I was wondering... for those of you who had your newborns sleep in your bedroom... when did they make the big leap into their own room??
I'm asking because Nicky had a cranky night, and when he FINALLY fell asleep, Patrick sneezed LOUDLY and woke him up, and then he was up for another hour.
I don't feel like he's old enough to sleep alone in his room, but I'd like some idea as to when he might be ready. I know this is probably a 'it's a personal preference' type question, but I'd like to hear what you did.

Re: Bon Voyage Nicolas
I had Luke in our room for about 3 months but he was not a light sleeper. If he had been, I would have had no problem putting him in his own room early on. I have a friend who's daughter was in her won room in the crib from Day 1. Her DH has asthma and can be a very restless sleeper so it was better for everyone. As long as you have the monitor, I think you are fine.

Re: Bon Voyage Nicolas
John Anthony was in his crib in his room 'officially' at 4m. Betw 3 and 4 months mommy was in denial and had a few (more than a few) nights where we kept him in the bassinet. Theres no right and wrong, Im sure his room is not far, and Im sure he'll love his crib.
Try it out and see how everyone adapts!

I probably shouldn't be answering this question because Gianna is in our room, but on the other side of the room. But technically , our room is supposed to be (and was) 2 bedrooms, so I can and will put my two cents in
The Little Bear Cub LOVED her bassinet when we first took her home, but as she became the little gavone that she is, she grew (and grew ) to HATE the bassinet and would only sleep 15 minutes at a time in it, so at around 6 weeks I put her in the crib, all by her lonesome and SHE LOVES IT!!!!! She started sleeping through the night a couple of nights after I did that and now she always sleeps through the night (watch, she'll be up at 3AM tonight ).
I agree with Anna -- try it out, you have nothing to lose and a good night's sleep to gain!! There's no set time, I think whenever you feel it's right for YOU and little Nicolas, that's the time!! Sweet Dreams Nicky!!

Sean was 7w and 2d when he moved into his room. If he wasn't so darn big, I would have kept him in the bassinet longer.
OTOH, he's been sleeping 11 hours straight since 7w and 3d!! That crib rocks!!

Kathi, if I remember correctly, we have the same crib. I hope it has the same 'sleep magic' for us!

Damien is still in our room and will be 3 months on Friday. I'm not even close to moving him
