If your goint to the Hamptons you chould check out Public House. I went to college when it was LIU ( how much is a resume worth where my scholl no longer exsist?) & when friends from out of state come back to visit we always hit up Public House,

What is the point of being on a public forum if you can't express opinions? Some of us have more opinions and like to state them more then others. I think there is nothing wrong with giving an opinion. What stinks about typing is that you can't hear a tone of voice sometimes things are taken the wrong way, I am super sarcastic and rub people the wrong way sometimes but I never have any mean intentions. I personally don't like beer but fh does and I doubt he would be offended if I said take to me the winery? I don't get why that was a bad remark?

Point taken... but you would never tell a bride that her wedding gown looks like shiit if she asks your opinion.... you can state your opinion without being mean or rude. IMO when someone states an opinion that is mean or rude it's just to cause a shitstorm... totally unavoidable.

I think a can of beer and a wedding gown are 2 different things. Honestly if I look bad in something I hope someone would tell me because lies would only hurt me. I would be mortified if I looked terrible in something and people told me i looked good. I wouldn't want to walk around looking bad. kwim? Look I mean we all say things out of anger and sometimes sacrasm, I don't think we should go on a witch hunt.

OK, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say most of the brides on this site prefer a little tact when seeking opinions whether it be on beer drinking of wedding gowns.

If I ask you how a wedding gown looks on me, I don't want to be told I look like a fat cow, instead maybe tell me it's just not flattering. Same for beer, it's not for me, but whatever gets ya drunker faster... it's just basic message board etiquette. I don't know if you've ever been on a message board before, I see you have a low number of posts, but that little bit of advice will carry you a long way around here. Wedding planning is a sensitive thing, so when we're asking for opinions, we want honest yet TACTFUL opinions. Just keep that in mind.

So low number of posts must mean I am a social mutant I guess. Yes I've been on message boards before. I would never call someone a 'pig' or throw an insult on how someone looks in their dress. I think I understand the art of social etiquette. I just didn't find the original post of yuck beer offensive. kwim? In the grand scheme of things I really didn't think I would be ripped to shreds, sorry if I ofended anyone one by not being offended?

I don't think you 'lack social ettiquette', I just assumed that you thought it was OK to be brutally honest (aka, mean) when giving an opinion.

And the post that started this all was not the the poster saying she disliked beer, it was her saying that she though beer drinkers were 'peasants'.

yeah, the 'yuck' thing was just a normal annoyance, lol...but the whole 'peasant/trashy' for just drinking beer comment was uncalled for, she obviously regrets that, it has been of course *edited*.

I have no clue where we are at right now because i am just talking about beer for myself. Currently the Hamptons Brewery has some award winning stuff on tap and in production also brooklyn brew is pretty good esp. their Brooklyn One which is in a bottle special fermented.

girls, lets relax, we will all have different opinions on one thing or another. Just forget about it and remember most of these girls on here aren't your friends, you shouldn't let their opinions matter too much to you

I think the only solution here is to always have a drink in either hand - one beer and one straight liquor.

no nobody said that...the part about 'my family and I sit around and laugh and say beer is for peasants' that is wrong to say and that is offensive, wouldn't you say? the yuck beer part it wouldn't have bothered me that much, if she didn't say yuck i hate this about everything ppl do, its not the first time. Or calling ppl idiots for decisions they make so that is why. And it has nothing to do with number of posts...but to call all people who drink beer peasants then that is wrong.

yes this is a message board and obviously we all give our opinions...do you like this dress, yes or no...what kind of flowers go well with my theme...me asking where a brewery is first of all is not asking for any opinions, im asking for a location of a specific place, and then to say beer is for peasants well that was uncalled for.

and nobody got nasty or said anything offensive, yes i was sarcastic with my first post to her bc it was like ok here we go again with the negativity...then even when she made the peasants comment, i answered sarcastically and made more of a joke about it, she is the one who went completely off and got nasty and even said a girl who drinks beer is the trashiest thing ever, which basically is calling me trashy lol
