Book #4 Is Good In Bed

Book #4 Is Good In Bed

Good in Bed had interest from exactly half of the voters, and is the winner for this month.

I noticed that the first book, which had the most participation, had a longer reading time. I'd suggest giving until say May 28 for this book. How does that sound to the rest of you?

FYI: For next month, Drowning Ruth, The Red Tent, and Watermelon should stay on the list (to be supplemented by new nominations) as they had interest from more than 1/3 of the voters.

Thanks Valenia.

If you have it, what came in second place? (already read Good in Bed so I figure I'll go with #2)

oh well - I'll wait til the next round.

BTW - I would think 1st to Die made it to the next round - it seemed pretty popular. Did it come close? I may read that on my trip to CA in 2 wks

I've never participated in a discussion, so I dodn't vote, but I would like to. Is this right, I have to read Good in Bed, and then we will discuss it on this board on the 28th? Who is the author?

Sonicstef - The second place book with 9 votes was The Red Tent. (Of course this could be next month's book, if you keep reading the second place choices you may keep being ahead heheh)

Drowning Ruth and Watermelon both had 8 votes.

Handmaid's Tale had 6 votes.

1st to Die, Girl with a Pearl Earring, Kindred and The Weight of Water all had 5 votes each -- which is just 25% of the voters.

Re: Book #4 Is Good In Bed

Jennifer Weiner is the author of Good in Bed. The 28th is my suggestion of date, but others may have a different opinion. (The date isn't mine to choose!)

I already read it, so I can read other things until the discussion.

Kim, when can we give new suggestions??

You can give suggestions whenever you'd like. (Feel free to start a suggestions thread). I don't think we should vote though until the middle of May...

I already read it, and though I enjoyed it, I don't think its worth a re-read. I'll have to see if I can join in the discussion with what I remember.

thats how I feel Helene! I am now reading The Mists of Avalon and I've already read:

The Secret History, Girl with a Pearl Earring, Good in Bed, Kindred, The Red Tent, The Shipping News

I think in may be awhile before there's a new book for me in this club...
