Book recommendations

Hello ladies!

I will be partaking in a 10 hour car ride with the FH family on Saturday and ANOTHER 10 hour car ride back on Monday. (I may end up killing myself). Does anyone have any good book recommendations? I like almost everything. I read all of the hunger games (and loved them). And I already thought about 50 shades Of grey but I don't think reading that book with my fmil, ffil, and fbil all within a few feet from me is a wise idea.

TIA!!

Re: Book recommendations

Right now I'm reading a few books...'The Night Circus' is great, beautifully written and has great atmosphere. If 'The Hunger Games' made you like YA lit, I'd suggest 'The Mortal Instruments' series by Cassandra Clare or the Gemma Doyle trilogy by Libba Bray. If you want something on the lighter side, anything by Christopher Moore--'Lamb' and 'A Dirty Job' are my favorites, no other author has physically made me laugh out loud.

For light easy car reading, I read Mindy Kaling's book Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? It's really cute & funny

As far as 'real' books, I really like memoirs & biographies.. My two recent faves are Blue Nights by Joan Didion (VERY dark though, but worth it) and A Ticket to the Circus by Norris Church Mailer

The Hunger Games series, Harry Potter series, Anita Blake series, Sookie Stackhouse series, Dirty Job & Lamb by Christopher Moore (hysterical), Water for Elephants, The Help, The Lovely Bones, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, The Mercy of Thin Air, and McMaster the Disaster series (cute wedding-related series)

I like anything by Jodi Picoult. Or if you want more light reading then you should check out Something Borrowed by Emily Griffin.

Re: Book recommendations

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. But I only had time to go to target and they had NOTHING!! I usually get my books there bc try are cheaper but they must have not gotten a shipment in or something. Anyway, I opted for 'let's pretend this never happened' a mostly true memoir by Jenny Lawson who is the bloggess. I have no idea but it seems funny so hopefully I will enjoy it. And hopefully I will be able to stop at a rest stop n see one of the books you all r recommending. Thanks again everyone!!!
