Book Review 'A December Wedding'

A December Wedding, by Anita Shreve

I just finished this book yesterday and really enjoyed it. This is the kind of book that makes you think about the choices that you are making now and in the past and how it will all wrap up into your future. It also shows the importance or un-importance the state of marriage is to diffrent couples.

It is roughly about a wedding for a couple that were high school sweet hearts back in the late 70's who were recently re-united and are dealing with one persons illness. A group of their friends are meeting up for this wedding held in the late 2001 to early 2002 in the shadows of 9/11.
The book focuses on each persons accounts of who they were back in high school versus now 27 years later when they are 40, and an event that changed all of their lives a month before they graduated from High School.

If you are looking for a book full of characters and complex stories, you may enjoy this one.
