we are planning from out of state and were only in NY for 1 week to find and place and date and we booked!!
but... without tasting the food..
i read some reviews on here (LOVE LIweddings!) was wondering if anyone heard anything bad about the food or anything we should stay away from at Lands End? any advice?

FBIL got married there...the food was delicious...its a great place!

My cousin is getting married there on 8/17, so if you can wait that long for a review, I'd be happy to give you one.
I'm in the wedding and have heard great things about that place. My neighbor got married there last year. They said everything was great!

I was just there at a wedding last sat and the food was very good~! nothing to worry about it

we were just at lands end today to check it out... they are a part of lovin' oven corporation and own several other restaurants/reception halls on the island (west lake inn, flowerfield) check out the website lovinoven.com and maybe have dinner at one of their partner restaurants? that might help!

I am a Lands End bride and the food is fabulous and I am not just saying that because I am getting married there. I have also been to a wedding there and the food was so good !

'08er crashing! I am getting married at Land's End in about 6 weeks. Honestly the food is great and the majority of places do not offer you a tasting prior to booking. We went to our tasting and we absolutely loved it - my parents were so impressed with the food and glad we had picked LE. The absolute best thing was the Center Cut Pork Chop - blew us out of the water. But you can't go wrong with anything there! Good luck.

FM me if you want to know anything!! I negotiated as much as I could w/them and got things thrown in. And I also knew a family whose son was married at LE in summer 2007, and they allowed me to come to the cocktail hour to sample the food. So if you have questions re: the food, here is what I tasted between my tasting and the cocktail hour:

I've heard that the food from Lovin Oven in general is good, so I'm sure it's the same for Land's End
