Booked my photgrapher!!!

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone for all their advice yesterday about photographers at Cassarino. I ending up booking Nickolai! Lizlen I think that is who you are using!! I LOVE his pictures. I am still debating this whole photojournalist thing. What do you all think?? Is it worth all the extra money??

Congrats! I really want to get photo journalistic also, but my FI thinks it is ridiculous. If I do decide to do it, I will not let him know until the end of the wedding!

I just looked at your profile babybride! I see you are getting married at Westbury Manor! I think that place is GORGEOUS! We almost went with WM, but FH's bro got married there, so we went with Fox Hollow!

Hah! So funny Octbride- I love the Fox Hollow, but I am the exact opposite. My family has been to a ton of weddings there!!! That is why I picked Westbury Manor!

I better get moving! and btw, I'm definitely going for photojournalism - I've seen pics from a wedding at WM last Memorial Day - thats what made me want it in the first place!

Eroxgirl- You have nothing to worry about with planning. Everywhere I went they said I was early!! I wanted to get that stuff out of the way cause I am a CPA so the next few months will be super busy!!! Now, I still need a band!!!!! I forgot -are you the day or night wedding at WM??

Day wedding. I have a list of photographers ready for me to call and make appointments - I have to get as much as I can done this month because when school starts again I'll be busy until June... and then the 1 year countdown begins!!

Not that you want to be exactly like me (haha!), but I am using Rhapsody, it's one of the bands from Skyline Orchestras. All of their bands are pretty good, I'd check out one of their showcases.

I used cassarinos and I did go with the photojournalist as well. I loved his work but my one complaint was that he doesn't stay for the reception. (unless you pay extra). I would have loved to have gotten unique action shots of people dancing and stuff.

If you have the extra $$$ to spend, I'd say go for it. Otherwise it's not that important.

Thanks Scoop. It is really pricey. I think they said $900 or so. I didn't realize that was just for the ceremony. Wow I wonder how much it is for the reception. The shots I liked in the albums I saw were all reception pictures. I think I wait a little while and see where I stand money wise when everything else is done!

I didn't realize it cost so much extra for photojournalistic pics! Is that everywhere or just with Cassarino?

I think a lot of good photojournalistic photographers are pretty pricey. You're paying for their art of photography, it gets up there!

I liked Cassarino, but didn't end up going with them. I didn't feel that you should have to pay extra for photojounalistic. Why couldn't the photographer just snap some candid's is what I was thinking? Then I saw their photojournalistic proofs, and it wasn't what I wanted. they had the BM's leaning on the fridge waiting for the bride to come down, that's not exactly what I had in mind. So, all I can say, before you book them, tell them exactly what you would want- and see if they can do that?
