I booked my reception at Watermill Caterers and I fell in love with the place! However I feel like I'm over my head financially! I don't want to cancel at all. But if I have too what stipulations would I come across. I'm sure I wouldn't receive my first payment made 2 months ago back. I need help!!!

I'm sorry about your situation, I'm not familiar but maybe try looking at your contract? Does it mention anything about cancellations?
If you don't want to cancel and lose your money, maybe try pushing the date back to allow for more saving? Good luck.

You would probably lose any money you put down. I cancelled one place after putting $1,000 down and didn't see it again. GL

If you still love the place, maybe you can push back the wedding, which will give you more time to save, and/or a less expensive day/time. Then you shouldn't lose the deposit, you can still have your dream place, and at a more affordable time!

All of the above. Aim for something in maybe January on a Friday night, or Sat/Sun afternoon when prices are cheaper!

I agree with the girls..try to push the date to a later date so you can save up! It's possible to make it happen to have it at your ideal venue! At first I thought it was impossible for us, but it was possible and we are saving up!

What about cutting some things out and asking for a price reduction? I remember when we met with watermill they offered a TON of food and maybe if you got rid of some of it, there would still be plenty and you could cut food costs
