Booked the B&B in Avignon, France today!!
I am so thrilled that this is actually coming together, I wanted to share!
I'm working with a wonderful travel agent for most of our plans for our trip to France, but when I mentioned to her this lovely little B&B I was thinking about in Avignon, she said that she won't book B&Bs for her clients because many years ago some clients in Italy had a bed bug problem and B&Bs don't have the same health code standards. So she said I was welcome to book it, but had to do it on my own.
I emailed the owner, a lovely lady named Marion, and told her about my interested in her B&B and inquired about the dates. (We're going to spend 4 days in Avignon in the middle of our 10 days in France.) She emailed back and sounded very nice! So I decided I would call her!
I purchased a $10 international phone card so I wouldn't get rocked by crazy international fees on my cell phone and today I took the plunge and gave her a call. She was just as lovely on the phone as she seemed in email, and she was very excited to speak to me about our visit! The strange thing is that she requests we pay for our stay in cash, but according to all the reviews on trip advisor, it isn't that big a deal. It'll probably give us a break anyway.
I'm so excited!!!!!!!!!!!! Time to look at hotels in Paris! Wahoo!!! FH got his passport in the mail this week (he's never been out of the country before!) -- this is so much fun!
Thanks for listening, everyone!
