We booked with Imagine Studios and they're great. I think it's a good idea to book with a small business bc when you look at their work, you know that they are the ones photographing your wedding. I'm not saying that larger companies are no good, but it is just something to consider... or at least try to book with a specific photographer when you do go with a larger company.
Lia is sweet and threw in some extra things free of charge. She and her assistant photograph, and her husband does the videography. She is absolutely someone who I can see following me around all day. She is pleasant, funny, and an absolute pleasure to do business with. I'm very excited about working with her! And my cousins at North Island Photography (who will be unable to photograph my wedding since one is a bridesmaid and the other (her husband) is a dear friend of mine and will of course be a guest at my wedding) recommended her and I trust their judgment as they are amazing photographers themselves.
Checklist:
Church - St. Pat's in Bay Shore - booked! Venue - The Garden City Hotel - booked! Band - Code Bleu - booked! Florist - Pedestals - booked! Photographer - Imagine - booked! Videographer - Imagine - booked! Other surprise details ;) - booked!
Limo, invitations, smaller details... TBD.

And yes I think I've covered a lot of ground, too... and the amazing thing is it really wasn't stressful at all. I highly recommend focusing on 1-2 things at once, and that is it. I found the venue first, then booked the church, then searched for a band and booked, then searched for florist and photographer simultaneously, and ended up finding and booking the florist first. Fortunately, I ended up using the same vendor for both photog. and videog. so it worked out really well.

I actually emailed Lia this morning to set up an appointment! My sister used her back in 2005 and had nothing but great things to say. Her album is actually still up on this site under Becks23.

Awwww thank you Shauna!! I seriously cannot wait for either of our weddings!! Although I'll be a little sad by the time yours comes... because it will mean mine is OVER!!!!!! Hahah totally kidding... It is going to be a freaking blast.

Congrats!! I am also an Imagine Bride and I agree with everythng you said. Lia is amazing and she is someone I want with me all day. That was very important to me. You have to like the person that will be following you around! I also think her work is amazing! I havent heard of one unhappy bride. And I think she really gets to know her brides...which is a bonus when working wth a vendor. I cant say enough good things about Imagine!!!
