Hey girls..I'm a little upset because I booked the riviera for May 14,2004 and I'm going to have about 180 people...I have been reading on the boards and elsewhere that it's WAY too many people even though they said max capacity is 220! I'm so upset! I don't want people to be too crowded, but I thought it would be fine especially since there's the outside! (provided there's no rain!) What do you think?

Re: Booked the Riviera-Need Opinions!
I would add this post to the newlywed board - you might get someone who might know the answer to this better if they have already had their wedding there

Re: Booked the Riviera-Need Opinions!
I think that being your Cocktail Hour will be held outdoors, it will not be that much of a problem. Being that mine is in Dec at the Riviera, our Cocktail Hour is indoors and for that many people, it would be crowded. We are inviting only 120, because of that. The outdoors is beautiful there and lucky for you, the weather will be nice. When it comes the reception part, the only thing I think might be a problem for you, is that they set up some tables on the dance floor. FH and I didn't like that idea, nor did we like the back corner of the room where they put tables if needed for more seating. I know if I were a guest and sitting at one of those tables, I wouldn't be happy. From the back corner, you can not see the dance floor. And for those tables on the dance floor, you don't feel quite at apart of the wedding and everyone is dancing so close to your table. Just some thoughts that FH and I thought of when we looked at the Riviera. Any other questions or thoughts, FM me.

Re: Booked the Riviera-Need Opinions!
I am also getting married at the Riviera, and I am having about 200 guests. I know people who have been to weddings there with a lot of guests and there has not been a problem. As far as putting people in the back, I am planning to put the kids back there. They dont mind it, it kind of gives them a little room to themselves. My wedding is in the summer, so I am hoping for good weather so I can have my cocktail hour outside. Thanks everyone for thier suggestions, and I will keep them in mind.
