Booked Venetian Yacht Club!!
The VYC is the best thing that could have happened to us. We were ready to book on the spot Monday night but booked this morning just to sleep on it... and we are so happy because we had been worried that we couldn't find a place in our price range that would be both modern/grand/ elegance and intimate/romantic. It is what we both wanted but couldn't seem to find in one place.
Daisy our BM is great. She met with us and we didn't even have an appt for Monday. I don't think they usually do that but we were set on getting another place Sunday night and just wanted to check out the VYC before we did - and we had already previously scheduled a Wednesday appt with VYC - so they really were just moving us up.
The other hall seemed to be what I thought I wanted --intimate and romantic.. But I have to admit I knew I was settling because I knew my fiance didn't like it as much as I did and that the room that I fell in love with would end up being too tight a fit, if all our guests showed up in May.
When we called the VYC and explained our predicament .. one of the managers.. I don't remember his name told us to come by and they would try to squeeze us in.
We got lost getting over there and the receptionist patiently repeated directions every time we called.... We must have called like six times... We got there and waited only a little while and Daisy came and introduced herself to us; someone offered us wine ....
We were really afraid that we couldn't find the hall of our dreams.. I dont even like halls! I personally believed that they were impersonal and that they couldn't possibly meet my needs... but I felt like on a tight budget I had to settle.
I am here to tell everyone still looking... Keep looking until you are 100% satisfied and don't settle. It would have been a major mistake to book that other hall with VYC was still out there... It is simply opulent and everything I dreamed of in decor, its outdoor/indoor setting, location on the water and classy/elegant atmosphere.... and because we were flexible on the date, Daisy was able to work something out with us that met all our needs w/in our price range.
I was so happy last night I was pacing the floors imagining how great my wedding would be at VYC... like i was on a high or something. My fiance LOVES it and we are sooooo happy we didn't settle... moral of the story... DONT SETTLE UNTILL YOU FIND THE HALL/RECEPTION SPACE OF YOUR DREAMS...
