I am planning to get married sometime in September or October 2010. I have not looked at any florists, RH, dj's etc. I have been setting up templates for Menu cards, coloring book, invitations, programs, cone petals, etc.
When is the latest I should start looking. We get three weeks off of work during Christmas. I was planning on going then. I have a list of everyone I want to see. Do you think this is a little late to book?

Re: Booking ????
there are people that book their entire wedding in 6 months. If you arent set on a specific date/place/vendors then you have plenty of time.

Re: Booking ????
i agree...if you dont have a specific venue or vendor that you MUST have then you can wait. places are booking 2010 though so keep in mind that if you do wait longer you just may haveto shop around a little more to get your date

Re: Booking ????
I would probably book the RH, everything else I would hold off on.

Re: Booking ????
I would definitely get your guest list together so you know your numbers and start looking at RHs. The popular places book up fast. Doesn't hurt to do research so you get a better idea of what is out there and what you like.

I agree, I feel that the RH is the most important to book

Re: Booking ????
It depends on the hall you are interested in ...if you want a hall that is only 1 wedding at a time I would deff book that as soon as possible. My hall is 1 wedding at a time and they already have booking for 2012.

Re: Booking ????
I'm booking a September 2010 wedding and believe it or not there are Halls that have dates booked already for that year.
I've spent the past month going to halls after work or on the weekend. I want to book my hall soon, that way I got my date and no one can take it! I will start with the dj, photopgrahy, etc after that since I can hopefully lock in this years prices.
Oh, yes. That reminds me... if you book this year at most places you get this years prices. A lot of places told us that after Dec 08' there will be a 5% increase in price. So the sooner you book the better of a price you may get!

Yeah, we locked in at this years prices for RH and photographer. Photographer's rates went up this month so we lucked out we booked when we did. Hoping to have my dj booked by next month as well.

Re: Booking ????
i feel that if you know exactly what vendor you want book it, no sense in waiting and taking the chance that they will eventually book up. if youre unsure of which vendors you want to use, i think the most important to book soon are the RH, church(if youre getting married in a church), and photographer,

Re: Booking ????
You dont have to start looking until 2009, however we began looking for RHs in Feb of this year and alot were booking already! We were originally booking for October 2010, and many halls had booked a bunch of dates in October already.

Re: Booking ????
Wow after reading how some places are already booked until 2012 I'm a little worried! I just recently decided to switch from a destination South Florida wedding to the somewher on the beach in thehamptons June or September 2010. Since those places are generally one at a time receptions I guess its really not too early. I think I'm going to start making some phone calls!
Has anyone been to a wedding out east that they can give details about?
