I just called 2 places and the rates for a block of rooms were $139. and $169 at another (but the more expensive place provides a free shuttle to and from the reception for guests)...
Do these prices sound about right - I've never had to book a room for a wedding so I am CLUELESS!!!! Any help would be appreciated. TIA

We're also having our reception at Hamlet Willow Creek and we looked at almost all the hotel rooms out there. We ended up with The Radisson for $119 but they don't include a shutle. we booked a relatively inexpensive shuttle with our limo place.

$119 - they quoted me $139...but maybe because of the season the price is different.

That sounds about right. Prices vary due to seasons too...

That does sound about right I would go with the one that provides the shuttle- its more accommodating to your guest. Also will you be putting anything towards the bill???- we are booking rooms also quoted $160.00 I think incuding brunch the next day at the 3 village inn- but we feel that is a bit height to ask the quest to pay, just wondering what your thoughts were on that

My blocked rooms were $129/night, so I think that the price you were quoted is 'in the ballpark.'
Sounds about right. I think we blocked rooms at the Huntington Hilton for $119 or $129 a night.

Re: booking a block of hotel rooms????
I've blocked at three hotels since I have a huge amount of OOT guests. My wedding is sunday of labor day weekend...I'm sure that had something to do w/the pricing.
Hampton Inn - $149 w/o shuttle, $199 w/shuttle
Raddison - $149 no shuttle available
Best Western - $189 shuttle for only 12 people the rest have to figure it out for themselves or we can pay for the additional van.
I think you are getting quite a deal. Although my wedding is out east and there are few hotels.

Re: booking a block of hotel rooms????
We got $149-$189 at the Uniondale Mariott. All the other places we called were about the same. I think it was a little more expensive because its a holiday weekend.

Re: booking a block of hotel rooms????
Im getting married at Hamlet Willow Creek too... I blocked rooms at Danfords... i think my price was $129... there is no shuttle, but there will be enough cars to get everyone a ride... i choose Danfords because I thought Port Jeff would be a great place for them to stay... you can just walk outside and have a great little town... plus it will be closer to where our rehearsal dinner will be and to where I live... the Radisson was too far away from where i am...

My mom loves Danford's and wants everyone to stay there. I agree that it would be a great place bc Pt. Jefferson is so beautiful, esp. in the summer. They quoted us $189 a night for a block of rooms. I like the idea of the shuttle that the other hotel offers. Also, out church is in Medford which is very close to the hotel with the shuttle. Maybe I'll offer both and let the guests choose.
