Booking a block of hotel rooms
Hi all! Is it necessary to book a block of hotel rooms for guests or just put a suggested list together when sending out the invitations. Our wedding ends at 5 pm on a Saturday and we wanted to go back to a hotel with a bar. However, we have no idea how many people will be coming out Friday night and how many people will actually stay at the hotel on Saturday night. What are you all doing?

We have a sat day time weddig too but we have alot of oot and guests coming from city. Alot of people well 18 rooms have been booked already for both nights. Maybe do a little block when ur not responsible. I know my hotel said I could block 10 rooms w no commitment.

We have a Sat wedding date. We have a lot of out of town guests so we are having Fri and Sat bookings. Our hotel did 10 room block with No commitment, they could be one day or 2 day bookings the hotel didn't limit us. When some get booked they open up more rooms to our guests at the discounted rate.
If the rooms are not booked a month before the date of the wedding they go back into circulation for the hotel to use at regular rates. Ours has a pool and breakfast is included. We wanted to make sure our guests didn't have to pay for breakfast on top of the hotel.

I went to a Saturday daytime wedding in CT a few months back and most guests came from NY so a lot of people drove out on Friday night and stayed over. I would say depending on your number of OOT guests you can base it on that.

I would block a few rooms at the hotel you plan on hanging out at after. I did a block at the hotel right next to the venue, but I am giving guests other options. :) Hope that helps.
