Booking a Photographer 101

Looking for some assistance:

FH and I are making appointments with Patken, Duet, and Twelfth night photography next week. We're both nervous. This is the most important vendor for both of us. Our budget is $3000-$3,200. Which vendor would you recommend? Who's great to talk to/work with? For Duet----Jay's team vs. Woo's team??? Would love suggestions, advice, tips, you name it...

In retrospect anything you wished you had added on, or vice versa?

Ok, I think my head is officially spinning!

Thank you

We booked Duet, but I honestly did not look at the other two vendors you mentioned. we looked at one other vendor before Duet and knew Duet was the one and did not want to look any further. Hasty I know, but we loved their work! Photography is very important to FH and I as well! We chose Woo's team, but it is all based on the style you want/like. What we did was without knowing who did what allbums, we chose the samples albums we liked the best and they happened to almost all be Woo's work! Good luck and don't be nervous!

I looked at duet last week and looked at 12th night last night. They will both be in you price range but personally I loved 12th night work he answered all of my questions before I even asked them. Duet sat be down will a book and a price list didn't talk much at all and was a little hard to understand. Both of there work is great so you can't go wrong either way.

FH and I looked at both Twelfth Night and Duet (as well as many other photographers) and just booked Duet last night. We also picked Woo's team. I think that they both do great work but it depends on the style you are looking for. When I saw the albums at Duet I just fell in love and they were really wonderful to work with (which is not something I could say about a lot of the photographers we looked at).

Good luck with your search. Feel free to FM me if you have any questions about Duet

I met and booked Woo from Duet

As soon as I walked into Duet's Studio, I just got that feeling that I knew this was the vendor for us.

I have also met Patken and IMO did not get a good vibe. Their work is gorgeous, but I did not like the fact that I had to sit down with a rep. in the office and who I might add was not friendly at all. Again, had nothing to do with their work, just was not for us.

I took my e-pics with Woo already if you want to check my album out.

Good Luck

12th Night was the 3rd photographer that we met with and we booked him on the spot! Way in our price range and we got 2 talented photographers. I was freaking out about this vendor too and was so happy when we booked with them.

We looked at DUet and honestly, i don't think you're goign to be able to use them on your budget. I had a similar budget and anything I was remotely interested in they started at $4K. i recommend mike Russo from Video Express Productions. He gave me a great photo package AND full vide for $3500.
