Booking a place

Booking a place

Hi ladies! I am a 2008 bride to be! I got engaged on Dec 8th and am loving it! However, my rents are putting the pressure on me to book a place ASAP because they are saying places are going to book up fast especially now that the holidays are pretty much over. I want to book a place but at the same time I dont want to feel rushed. Are any of you going through this? Have you found that places are booking fast?

First off CONGRATS!!!

And yes, I booked already knowing that after New Years they will book up fast. Think of how many people get engaged New Years!

I wouldn' t go book this week but yes i would get a jump and do your catering hall search. First off find out your budget. Find out how much you can afford and then go the vendor catering hall list and go from there.

Congrats and good luck!

I am already booked as well and with the holidays almost over and Valentine's Day right around the corner, prime dates for 2008 will go pretty fast. Just think, January 08 brides basically have only one year left until the big day

it really depends on what month you are interested in - remember, there are only 52 fridays a year, 52 saturdays and 52 sundays and A LOT of people getting married!!

good luck

We booked about a month ago, and we also found that since we wanted Memorial Day weekend, that places were booked.

yeah and i had a little trouble for may...i got my date bc the person who asked them to hold that date never came in to put a deposit they called her numerous times and she kept putting it off...finally they called her before giving it to me and they had enough so they gave it to me...otherwise may was booked up, except the sunday of memorial day weekend, but this was also two months ago

Congrats and welcome! I definitely wouldn't put off looking too much longer. It's true.... with Christmas over and NYE in just a few days and Valentine's Day just around the corner, people are going to be getting engaged and booking vendors.... We just went to look at a DJ today and he said this is prime booking season..... so I would just keep that in mind.... good luck!!

Re: Booking a place

Congratulations and Welcome.... I think most of us that have booked have been all over the island looking at places so dont be hesitant to ask for advice......
I would definitely start looking around... we actually had to push our date back a week because it was already taken (and we booked in early november)
happy planning.

Stuff books up sooo fast

My hall is not that popular on the boards, and when i booked a couple months ago, they only had one more saturday night in June left.

it also depends on the date you want to get married. Some dates fill up faster than others but i would definitely start making appointments to view venues, you dont want to wait too long!

Wow I never thought of it like that.. 52 of each weekend date.

I had trouble getting my March date. I can imagine May through Sept. is harder.

Congrats!! Ppl who are got engaged for christmas, new years, and valentines day will definately be out there booking, not to mention the other girls like us who started to book early. So just search and give urself a deadline and go and price ur places and then choose

DO NOT RUSH! Just get to shopping...if u rush u might miss the place u really want!

Welcome and congrats!

Places are booking fast! We booked our RH two months ago and we got the last day in July (out of Fridays and Saturdays). Definitely don't rush your decision-making, but I would get a move on looking at RHs because like other girls said, all the people who got engaged for Christmas and who will be getting engaged for New Year's are going to be booking too!

Good luck!

Congrats and good luck!! There is a reception locator guide thingy on this site. I would suggest looking around that area and narrowing it down, because by Valentine's Day there will DEF. be more people booking! Congrats!

Find out your budget and ask the girls her ewhat questions to ask...very important to know what you are looking for and what they are willing to give you so that you can compare apples to oranges.

Good luck I had so much fun doing it for the first week!
