If I wait to book my hall until 6 months before the wedding do you get major discounts?? I've been going back and forth between a destination wedding and having our wedding here due to our budget. I would love to book Westbury Manor but right now it's out of our league. Do you think I can save a lot by waiting.

Re: Booking a RH 6 months prior to wedding
You may get some discount if they don't have anything booked. But, you may have to be flexable with the date, obviously. Call and ask them( or visit them) and see what kind of price they will give you for 6 months from now.

Re: Booking a RH 6 months prior to wedding
My friend booked 6 months before her date and saved a lot she's also having it on labor day which helps also.
Thanks girls. I guess it depends on the hall. FH and I have to have a long talk and really figure out what we want to do.

Re: Booking a RH 6 months prior to wedding
When I was in college, I planned my sororities formal one semester and they are very 'wedding-like' but we skimp everywhere possible. We would book about 2 months in advance at the beginning of the semester for a party near the end of the semester. We would always get a really good price. I saved a ton, we got a $95 menu for only $60pp in May on a Friday night, but we were also ghetto....the places didnt let people who were under 21 drink so we would only pay for open bar for those people and their dates who were of age and they wore bracelettes. That was a price difference but it avg'ed out at $60pp +tax and grat. FYI - this was in central Jersey so a recommendation wouldnt even help!

You can def wait months before booking the RH, but I am afraid you may not find any RH's to accomodate you bec they will prob be all booked. The Westbury Manor is reasonably priced if you do it on a off-peak season on a Fri or Sun.

I agree....their head count is really high for a Saturday night year round I think, but for a day wedding in Jan - March (maybe) was something like $55pp. You should talk to them and work something out. They will really work with you if you are willing to do off-season. You can even talk about less options at CH or something and maybe they will lower the price even more. Good luck!

Re: Booking a RH 6 months prior to wedding
We booked 5 months in advance and saved a bunch of money. I would not recommend doing this on purpose because if you have your heart set on something, it may not be available. It's fine if you're flexible. For us, we didnt really want a sat evening wedding (there were none available anyway). The days that were most available were thursday evening and saturday morning. Also 4th of july
Another way we got our price per person dropped was to guarantee more people. We already knew we would be having way more than the minimum they already set, so that worked for us. Good luck!

Yeah for all that WM offers, you dont need to add on anything, bec the food selection is huge, and they can negociate and they do add on many extras. That can save you alot of $$$. Its a beautiful venue. You can have it in the winter months for around $50+ and they have the place decorated really amazing. You can have your dream wedding within your budget. Def consider it bec NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE

Have you considered having your wedding during the off season? You would probably get the same discount as purchasing at 6 months.

Re: Booking a RH 6 months prior to wedding
I had a long talk with FH. We have decided to book our wedding here. It's what we both truly want. We were only going to do a destination wedding because of financial reasons but I'm sure we can make our budget work here. We just have to make some sacrifices. We are going to look again at our top 3 catering halls and see what we can negotiate. We are fine with a Sat or Sun afternoon. Unfortunately, we'd prefer to not do it in the winter because we both really want to have an outdoor ceremony but we can leave a pretty good deposit if that helps. We've decided to cut out limos, make our own invitations, maybe get our flowers from costco and maybe even cut out a honeymoon. I can travel anytime but I'll only get married once. If we do have some money left in our budget at the end maybe we can book a small trip or maybe we can use money given to us at the wedding for a honeymoon. We'll see....I've very happy that we've come to this decision. It's what we both originally wanted. We just have to find all different ways to cut expenses and find budget vendors. I'm even considering buying a used wedding dress to cut costs. Thanks for your advice and suggestions

I am glad that you have made a decision and the decision that you really want. I really think that you can definetly save for your wedding. I would just cut back as much as possible and save. I made my own invites and really didn't spend any-money this year for clothing or going out. I make my lunch everyday. I set a budget each week for groceries . I cut back on xmas gifts and vacations and was able to do it within 1 year. Try putting money aside each week no matter how much. Good Luck.
