If you booked your HM yourself, did you book it through a certain website? Who tends to have the best deals?
Any suggestions that I can look into?

depends on where you are looking for but I have used Cheapcarribean.com alot and they are great easy and cheap

thats where we are going def check out cheapcarribean and also I would highly recommed the TA I used Rae from Cruising the ocean blue she is awesome she is a vendor on here.

We just booked this over the weekend through Orbitz and got an amazing deal!!! We booked it on our own after going to a travel agent. We also booked Royal Hideaway for 5 days after the Excellence PM.

We booked Excellence Playa Mujeres too and booked through Liberty Travel, after looking at all of the vacation websites and realizing that it didn't cost us anything additional to book thru the agent we decided that it wast the best way for us to do it. Especially since we didn't have to pay for the whole trip up front, just the airline and the insurance. FM me if you need more info.
