I just made an appointment to meet with Hilite Studios on Monday. I am so excited to finally be starting this process! I am going in the afternoon, so I will be sure to post prices when I get back. I spoke to Mike and he stated that most of the customers spend about $1600- which is music to my ears!! I will definitely post the info I get.

Im using Leli... I am getting an engagement shoot, and just the proofs (min 600) and the digital files... i am going to make my own album... probably will use mypublisher.com, which has GREAT prices! and since he is giving us the files (he shoots all digital) we can get any print enlarged, or duplicated...

Just be cautious with Hilite in Commack. My aunt used them for her anniversary party, had a woman and had awesome pics. My cousin booked a yr later for photography and video for her wedding and had the owner and the work was horrendous. My aunt cannot remember the woman photographer's name but her work was wonderful.

I hate to say it, but that sounds suspiciously low. Is that before albums and other photos? Are you only having one photographer? I would ask why they are SO much cheaper than most other photographers.

I have a great photographer, K & J Photography. I saw Duet and liked their package, but some girls hadn't gotten proofs and albums back in a timely manner. I was also worried about a language barrier.
I knew what I was looking for in a package already, so I proposed Duet's promotional package with 2 photographers (but with one film and one digital) and video. K & J customized my package, plus I get to keep ALL the negatives and proofs. I got guaranteed more proofs and I got to meet with my actual photographer. I've seen the work of my digital photographer too. They had better delivery lead time for the proofs and albums as well. Plus included in the package was my engagement shot! I saw SO MANY different studios and I couldn't be happier.

Yeah, I just informed FI that we have 2 appointments on Monday and 2 on Saturday. He was not happy but didn't say anything.
On top of of Hilite, we are going to meet with Minnick photography. He is listed on NS Graham's budget vendor site. I liked his work and his prices that he emailed me are good. I figured if I am going to be out there, I might as well make the most of it. I will post his prices in a few minutes.
