Booking Timeline?

I'm so confused about when I should start booking some of the more important things, like florist, DJ and photographer.

My FH and I have only been engaged since St . Patty's Day but booked our reception site (The Swan Club) the same week since they only had a few Fridays left for the summer.

My friend who just got married said I should start booking the florist, etc. NOW - but all the other 'wedding timelines' I've looked at say I should wait at least another few months. (we're getting married 7/24/09.)

I don't want to wait and miss out on places I really like, but I also don't want to seem like Bridezilla if I'm going to these places too early!

If you look at all of us brides you can see that we have pretty much booked all major vendors by now.

I would say definitely book the photo/video ASAP and DJ.

The rest is easy. I am booking flowers now and thats because the good florists sometimes cant do 2 weddings in a day.

welcome!!! Book what you can now. Make a few appts with places then make a decision as soon as you can. Probably by the year countdown the vendors should be done but there are a lot of brides out there so if you have your heart set on a vendor- make an appt now

ahhh yes the church or your officiant. I have to say that the officiant I first called was the vendor that was actually booked for 10/11/09 already

book the BIG things now...
i was engaged dec 2006
we had every big vendor booked by march 2007

mind u i have NO worries now and im 7 months away... its def a relief to kno u have everythin major set and ready
