Bora Bora Restaurants - Villa Mahana Overrated?

I am trying to plan our HM itinerary.

I know Villa Mahana is supposed to be the nicest or one of the nicest restaurants in Bora Bora.

I'm looking at pictures on their site and am not very impressed. Is it worth it?

Is Villa Mahana better/equal/worse than Bloody Mary's?

I'm not too impressed with Bloody mary's photos either.

I'm thinking of checking out Hotel Bora Bora's bbq.

I just read that a meal at our hotel room is $500!!! I know FP is supposed to be expensive but these prices are really ridiculous!

Please share your thoughts/experiences of restaurants in the FP. (Tahiti, Moorea, Bora Bora)

besides hotel bora bora firedance show and bbq- which other places offer a good show?

we wont be in bora bora until thursday..

Same for us! I've heard the other shows at the hotels aren't very good compared to the bora bora hotel show... anyone have any ideas?

For Villa Mahana you should definitely make reservations ahead of time by emailing the chef at:
damien_rinaldi@ villamahana.com
Be sure to request the top table and also let him know what hotel you're staying at so he can arrange for your pickup!

Hotel Bora Bora BBQ and Bloody Marys you should have no trouble getting a reservation when you arrive in Bora Bora - just your first day there go to your concierge and have him make the reservations for you. Hotel Bora Bora BBQ is only on Wed nights.

My travel agent just emailed me and told us that Villa Mahana is the best restaurant by far and told us Bloody Mary's wasn't very good at all. She said to check out Bloody Mary's for drinks just to see it if we want.

However, she strongly recommended Hotel Bora Bora's bbq.

She said that Top Dive and KAINA HUT were also very good.

We LOVED the food at Bloody Marys - if you like seafood it is great. I don't know why people keep putting down their food - it was one of our favorite meals of the entire trip!

I heard great things about Top Dive and Kaina Hut as well. If you can't get into Villa Mahana (Bridex100 that stinks they are booked up when you'll be there...sorry!)...I would go to Top Dive b/c it's very romantic and a beautiful place. The restaurant is over the water - so pretty!
