Bordeaux / Wine Colored Bridesmaid Dresses - Flowers?

My bridesmaids (only 3) dresses are Bordeaux. What color flowers do you suggest I use? Is anyone else using this color dress? The wedding is in August (hot) and I want to stay away from white for wilting purposes. I was thinking of a pink mix (light & dark pink). Any suggestions?

My girls had burgundy dresses

and their flowers, I believe were called 'harmony roses.' The roses were a pale color, I guess you could say a pale pink, and the tips of the petals had a deeper color that really matched the color of the dress. I also had them use berries (I forget the name), but they also had the same hues that matched the dresses and the deeper color of the rose petal tips. If you want to avoid pale colors, what about trying bold colors? Like yellows? Or what about a mix of lighter and darker colors? Or using a flower that carries more than one color, like the roses that are tipped with a deeper color? Definitely hold off on making firm decisions on your flower colors until you bring the florist a swatch of the girls` dresses. We didn`t do final colors and flower choices until about one month prior to our wedding, although we had told them a few months out that we would be using roses for the bouquets and the boutineers and 4 1/2 dozen roses for the centerpieces. Alter arrangements, place card table arragement, etc. were not at all decided on until about one month prior. Tell them your concerns and desires, and let them show you what they can do for you.

My bridesmaids dresses are Bordeaux also (after six) and my florist suggested lavendar, peach and tanish, which looked beautiful against the swatch....

I had bordeaux colored bridesmaid dresses and used a mix of orange colored flowers. If you go to the photographers section on this site and click on the VIP Studios (last one in the list) his page will come up. There is a picture of my bridal party on the top right hand corner. It will give you an idea of the colors.
