I have a border collie dog. His name is Auto and he is seven years old. I LOVE him! But he is so crazy! Any one else have an experience with one of these dogs? I am going to a border collie farm in Pennsylvania next weekend. I am so excited to see the dogs they have up for adoption.

Re: Border Collie Dogs
I dont have one, but we were almost considering them, but they are very active, and need to run around in a yard a lot. They are herding dogs, so that is their breed.

My parents have a border collie (mix, I think) and she is the same way with the leash. OMG! and if you get her riled up, she is a NUT! and does not want to stop. Great dog but doesn't always listen as far as staying on their property. She's about 4. We had a pure bred collie- not nearly as active. She was a great dog!
Thats what I have heard about that breed. They are #1 of ALL breeds as far as intelligence but also up there with energy too. Because they are so smart, they get bored and need a job to do. (like herding) They are really good at agility and flyball.
