Bored and Lonely in Texas

Original post by KerriJohnS

I'm in Texas using a computer small enough for a mouse sitting in this King sized bed all alone watching Lost.
Who's online? Haha....it can get lonely in a hotel room all alone.

i think id rather live anywhere other than NY. but for now we are stuck in NY. FH cant leave NY bc of work.. so we will buy a house upstate.... its our way of getting out of ny without actually leaving ny. hahaha if that makes any sense.

we were supposed to go into dallas today but my coworker wasnt feeling well and took a benadryl so he was too tired to go anywhere. instead we just had dinner in the hotel. someone who works for my company but who lives here was saying... ill take you into the city... and im like where is the city.. turns out he was calling dallas the city. hopefully we get to do something fun tomorrow night because its out last night here. my coworker who traveled down here with me is like chronically tired and so its hard to get to do anything thats too much fun. haha... also trying to not consume too many calories makes it hard. cant eat too much and i cant drink either. so far i just drank water with lemon all week long! that takes dedication!

omg! is all that for one person? thats a ton of food!!!
seems like our southerner friends love to eat! and they sure love to fry everything. esp louisiana!! they sure love to fry everything too! they have fried alligater on all the menus in louisiana!
austin is like 3 hours away from me. or so i am told. id love to go there.. but dont think thats possible on this trip.

actually one of my dream trips is to take an RV across country to just visit all these places ive never been. go down to cali along the southern states then come back home going upwards from cali then across the top from left to right and just hit whereever i can.

Yep this guy on the Travel channel tried eating that by himself and he ate almost all of it . I heard alligator is a very soft meat from Andrew Zimmerman another guy on the Travel channel, he eats all the weird stuff. I guess maybe you should try some bbq Texas has some of the best so you gotta at least have one rib. Well hope you have fun on your trip. I have to run off to hang with FH.

Re: Bored and Lonely in Texas

I went to San Antonio in August 2001 (roughly a month before 9/11/01) right before my senior year of college started. . .it was brutally hot at that time of year, but a lot of fun. I was at a conference representing my college's music department. (Gotta love free round trip airfare AND free room/board for four days!!!) It was the first major professional trip I had taken since I had turned 21 that prior December 2000, so I was REALLY excited to (legally) go out with other college students from across the country during our free nights.

I remember San Antonio being beautiful. The riverwalk was a TON of fun--so cool to see the whole downtown separated by a river!!! And the Alamo was neat to visit.

Re: Bored and Lonely in Texas

i work in the training department. so i came down with a coworker to teach a class for the texans and for the texas trainers to observe so they can learn how to teach it. also i got to do the same with one of their classes. haha. so it worked out well.
we didnt get a rental car this time... so im kinda stranded. the one texas coworker has been taking us around. he went home for the plumber so we shall see what happens with that... because he is supposed to take us to dinner and out drinking i think. haha. im looking forward to that but it might not happen.
we just talked abotu sonic today actually... i said i never been and the entire class gasped! i was like they dont have those in ny! but i dont think ill make it to one bc of the no car thing.

Hey Kerri!!!!

hey there sugar!!!
haha.. i think i saw that movie but i dont remember it. hahahaha.
i didnt get to go deep in the heart of texas. so sad. i really like to get in where all the locals are and sadly i didnt get that this trip. it was nice none the less and id come back to get a real feel for texas. i idndt even get to see any bright stars. it was still a good time. but if i came here on a vacation instead of work it would have been better. considering it was for work... it still wasnt so bad,.
