Has anyone ever stayed at the HoJo next to Fenway Park? I am getting the best rates there and it seems close to everything but I am not sure exactly how close. I am comparing it to another hotel a little more expensive so I am not sure what to do. Would you recommend staying in the Fenway park area?

Re: Boston Question
My sister goes to BU and they ran out of dorm rooms, so she stayed there...it is nice..nothing fancy, but with Boston hotel prices you can't go wrong. It was clean, and right near fenway, walking distance to copley square..I would def stay there

Re: Boston Question
When I went to BU half of that Ho Jo was dorms, so it was a total party scene, but that was in 98 and I think they phased that out.
The area there is okay - can't get closer to Fenway, but it's not quiet. Right on the Intersection of Commonwealth and something else as well as the T. It's safe and cheap and clean! Go for it...

Re: Boston Question
Thanks. We are going to a show on Saturday afternoon at a club right near there so it is convienent for that. Just wanted to see how it would be for the rest of the weekend with going to other places (and not driving b/c we will be drinking at the show). But if the T is right there, we should be ok.
ETA: This is the other place that is not much more money than the HoJo (about $5 more a night and $10 more a day in parking). Where would you stay?
It looks nice but it is more money than the others and we want to try and keep the cost down. Thanks for the recommendation though!

Re: Boston Question
The Fenway HoJo is not that same one that BU used for dorms (I went there too). I think the one you're thinking of is the one that intersects with Beacon and Commonwealth near Kenmore. There is another one (I think it is on Boylston) that is right behind Fenway (the other side than the one that is near BU). It is extremely close to Landsdowne street which is probably where the club is that you're going to.

I just noticed the Motley Crew avatar. You going to the concert up there? My sister and her husband are heading up there.

Re: Boston Question
The club is on Lansdowne Street so I know it is close. We are going to see the Dropkick Murphys at the Avalon there. Will it be easy to get elsewhere in Boston from this HoJo b/c that is the one I was talking about (Boyleston Rd)
I saw Motley Crue at the Garden last night and I will see them at Jones Beach this summer.
Thanks for all the info.

Re: Boston Question
I haven't been there since '99 so let me see if I can remember. There are many lines that are within walking distance to there but none come to mind that are extraordinarily close (within a couple mintues). Your best bet would probably be to walk to Kenmore and get the green line (probably less than a ten minute walk). From there it is only a two stop ride to Copley which is a nice tourist area or take is another 3 - 4 stops and you can get to Fanueil Hall. You may want to call the hotel and see what they say.

Re: Boston Question
I've been to Boston several times and I've always stayed at the Buckminster which is right across from Fenway; it's at the intersection of Commonwealth and Boylston in Kenmore Square. Nice hotel and convenient to transportation--1 block tops. I once had a room that overlooked Fenway, couldn't see the field, but I thought that was pretty cool.

we also stayed in the buckminster and loved it. we actually had a view of the field from our room and they were playing a night game and it was so cool!
