bottle warmer ?

My dh insists getting a bottle warmer will be easier than heating water in the microwave and sitting the bottle in it,

How does a bottle warmer work? And which one do you have?

Re: bottle warmer ?

I don't know first hand, but my SIL just told me that she didn't really care for it. She basically said that you really have to watch it carefully anyways because if you fill only the one tube with water, it doesn't get hot enough and if you fill the second one, it gets too hot.

Basically I think it works kind of like steam from an iron...heats up a small amount of water which helps to steam warm the bottles. Could be wrong though....

I have the advent bottle warmer & like it. You can set the 'timer' for how many minutes ... but I haven't figured that feature out yet. Mostly I like it b/c the bottle never falls over like it might in a pot. I keep a close eye on it to make sure that the milk's not getting too hot. I bought it in BRU & it was about $29 or so.

LOL, yet another conflicting opinion on a baby product. I borrowed the Avent warmer from my SIL and I could not see any benefit to warming it there vs. in a pan. I was just glad I din't pay for it.

I have the one from Especially for Baby and it works great - never had a problem with it. Just gets the chill off...

I found it was much easier to (dare I say it?? ) nuke the bottle.

I use the especially for baby one. I use it and have had no problems with it. It's a keeper.

Re: bottle warmer ?

I don't use one because I use the powder formula which I make right before she has it. So, it's room temperature.

I got the safety 1st night & day one. I hate it. It comes out way too hot or too cold. I've played with the amount of water you put in & it's still no good.

I have the Safety 1ST!! and I wonder how I got along without it...It's great and now that Mia is on solids you can heat the baby food right in the basket that they give you.

Re: bottle warmer ?

NuBride- I think that's the one I have. I just can't seem to get the temp. right. How much water are you putting in for the bottles?

Re: bottle warmer ?

Fill the whole blue side thing with water...if it gets too hot you can always add more formula/breatmilk to get the right temp.

HTH

If you don't have more than six ounces you want to heat them fill the blue thing up only half way.
