Does anyone have the option of chosing Bottled beer for their reception. We have to choose either 2 or 3. Do you think we need to have a lite beer. We definately want Heiniken and Budweiser, but I dont know if I should choose a lite beer or a more sophisticated beer for my 3rd choice. What do you girls think?

Re: Bottled Beer
Amstel light is popular but yeah i would think it is a good idea because many people drink light beer

Re: Bottled Beer
there's always Coors light. and I second on Amstel light, which is a higher end type of beer.

I would choose a light beer too. Amstel Light is getting pretty popular, so I would do that or just go with Coors Light to be on the safe side.

I agree about the Corona, even though it's about al I drink! It can be an overwhelming taste for some. Amstel seems like a good light one to me.

Re: Bottled Beer
I'd add a light beer - But you know your own guests and what your friends/family drink- But you can't go wrong w/ one import and one light- something for everyone

Re: Bottled Beer
Whichever beers you choose - I'd advise having the beer ppured into a glass. Beer bottles don't look good in pictures. I think weddings are too formal to allow bottles around (you may already be doing this but just wanted to remind you in case you didn't say anything to your venue yet)

yes yes yes...and YES!!!
i don't know if we will have to narrow down our selection for beers as i am under the impression that 'open bar' is whatever they have. i also am hoping that most people will stick to champagne and wine...
if i had to chose, off the top of my head i'd have a light, a Sammy, and something in between...

Meg, Are you choosing things already (did they contact you for this )or did you see it on the menu (I know they were making a new one)? Not to be nosy, but how did you know that you are to choose 3? Good to know, and good luck.

Re: Bottled Beer
I definitely think you should choose a light beer. Many people prefer light beer over regular, so take that into consideration.

Re: Bottled Beer
We are having Coors, Bud (I think) or Amstel, Guinness and we finagled the hall to get Magners (it's an irish cider) but with the Magner's if we do not have 200 at the wedding we have to pay 1/2 the price of the magners. Which isn't a bad deal.
If you feel you want to choose a light beer, I think Amstel light is a nice choice. I like it - it's a nicer tasting beer than Bud light. Or choose Miller Lite?
