Bottled wine for favors...

Where did you girls order them from? And if you don't mind me asking, what are you getting them at? Are you doing custom labels?

(My FH just saw photo of our reception hall set up for a wedding and noticed the bottles of wine as favors. He thinks it would be a nice idea to give the corkcrews with a bottle of wine.)

Re: Bottled wine for favors...

I purchased our wine at the Pindar store in Port Jeff - we got the labels across the street at And I Quote, and the employees at the Pindar store put each label on the bottles for us.

It can be pricey, but we're sure most guests will enjoy the favors

Re: Bottled wine for favors...

I ordered mine from DuckWalk Vineyards. They actually quoted me less than the Pindar store in Port Jeff (which most people told me he opposite). I wanted to use Duckwalk Wine b/c it was on of the first bottles of wine we drank together (bought because we liked the cute ducks on the labels) and the first vineyard we visited together. We are using the regular Chardonnay.

I got my labels from http://www.myownlabels.com.
(A recommendation from this board). I just got a round sage green label which the woman at DuckWalk said matches the Chardonnay bottles perfectly.

I wanted to put out picture on them but we got lazy and just put out names and wedding dates.

Once I got the labels to Duckwalk..it took about 3 days for them to have my order ready. I will probably pick them up next weekend! DuckWalk inclues putting on your labels and gift wrapping in their price and I believe so did the Pindar store.

Re: Bottled wine for favors...

bridetobe - that sounds like the same bottle we're giving out - 2001 Chardonnay. We bought them from Pindar and they gave us a 25% discount since we bought more than 2 cases.

How much did you pay at Duckwalk?

Re: Bottled wine for favors...

Teri- I bought 125 bottles. Both gave me a price per bottle. I have all the documentation at home...so I don't remember the price per bottle.

I know they both gave me the same price for Red wine but for the Chardonnay it was a litle cheaper per bottle to get it straight from DuckWalk. They gave a wedding discount.

I expected to order from the Port Jeff store based on my conversations on the board with you but DuckWalk came in cheaper.

You know I was chatting with someone else who called DuckWalk and got a different price than I did (a higher price) so I am not sure what logic these places use when they giveout price quotes.

Re: Bottled wine for favors...

Are you giving a bottle to each guest? Or per couple?

Right now I have 150 guests, so I'm trying to figure out if it's reasonable. Was it under $1500?

Re: Bottled wine for favors...

I know I ordered 125 and it was under $1500. I think it was under $1,000. I am doing one per couple and putting them out on the tables.

Boy, I wish I didn't change bags this morning. I have all the info in my regular work bag! Today I opted for a smaller, lighter bag!

Re: Bottled wine for favors...

I went to Pindar in Port Jeff. We got, I think 120 bottles and it came under 1000 dollars. We gave out one per couple. We didnt put them on the table. Someone gave them out as people left. I should of just placed them on the table because I do know some couples did walk out with two.

Re: Bottled wine for favors...

My FH saw this picture of our reception location and liked the way the bottled wine looked on the table:

sorry for such a large pic!

And considering we're definitely giving the corkscrews as a favor, we thought they would go great together.

Re: Bottled wine for favors...

we were going to give wine bottles as well but changed our minds. at the time i thought this would be a cute alternative favor for guests under 21 - keeping with the same theme. you can personalize these bottle of different flavored sodas from jones soda. just thought i'd share. i loved this idea.

Re: Bottled wine for favors...

We wanted to only give one per couple, but for the same problem that Cindy mentioned, people would take 1 each. We thought a sign or something would be tacky, so we plan to give 1 bottle per guest.

They won't fit on our tables, so they'll take one each on their way out.

Re: packing ideas

Duckwalk wraps them for you. I am using a clear cellophane wrap tied with ribbon. They had a few styles to choose from.

Re: Bottled wine for favors...

I got my wine today!! I got it from Windsor Vineyards. Their price was good (I think). I got 96 bottles and the price came out to under $700, including shipping. They will put whatever message you want. We are wrapping them in organza bags from Wrap With Us and we are attaching the heart bottle stopper to it (also wrapped in an organza bag). It will be tied with a ribbon - name/date and have a little flower attached.

Re: Bottled wine for favors...

I've been considering wine bottles for favors. How far in advance do you order them? My wedding is in Feb 2003.
