bottles for breast feeding Moms

I know that I will need to both bottle feed and bf once i return to work. I have always been a huge fan of plain old Playtex bottles with the liners. Any comments on bf and bottles though?

we use playtex with the drop in liners.
You can only pump directly into those liners IF you have the bottle next to you when u r done and then slip the liner directly into the bottle...then untie the ties to release it from the pump.
You have to be careful or else you wind up spilling.

You cannot freeze in the dropins sinc eyou cannot roll the top down and then use the twist ties.

OTHER than that it works well for us.

And you can buy the freezer bag liners ( I use Medela for my pump n go). Once you defrost you can insert the freezer ones right into the playtex bottle sleeve. ( I cant pump enough to have something to freeze)

Hope this helps

I also use the playtex bottles with the disposable drop-in liners and love them...no bottle sterilization to worry about!

Michele I plan on breastfeeding too and I registered for the playtex bottles, they have a more modern version now

I'm using the Avent bottles for my breastmilk which is what my pediatrician recommended because of the nipples being more similar to the 'real' thing. So far no problems.

I know about the drop-in liners so I am glad to know that everyone can use them. I wasn't sure. I had read that Avent was good for bfing moms but I like the idea of pushing out the air.

I had the Avent bottles and the sound of the air use to drive me crazy, especially since he was a colicky baby. I use the Dr. Browns and love them. They have wide mouth ones that are specifically for pumping. I didnt BF him so I can't comment on the nipples of the Avent bottles although I know they are touted as being very good for the nipple transition.

I use the Avent bottles. My dd had no problem with them from week one. I never tried any other bottle except the Platex bent bottle (Vent air?) and she did not like it. Avent also makes a sippy cup atteachment for their bottles so you can get more use out of them. I started on those last week and she like them too!
