OMG! I can't believe this is for real... FH and I have been house hunting forever it feels and we finally found the one and it is OURS!!! Our bid was accepted and just booked the engineer inspection for Friday. This feels so 'not real'. I am all so excited though! It is this awesome house out in Rocky Point just around the corner from the beach. I can't wait to move it! I dreed the $ morgage though.... LoL Just wanted to share my great news.

Congrats and good luck with the new house, dont worry about the mortgage it is better to invest it in a house then pay rent to someone else, and them invest it.

Congrats! I remember thatfeeling as if it were yesteday (it practically was since it was just last March!) Good luck with everything. And about the mortgage - someone once told me when I was having the same anxiety as you... things always fall into place. And they did! Dh works a few days a month doing a side job that he loves to level out the expense! Good luck with it all! Years of happiness to you!

That's so great! FH and I are going to start looking next month. We want to be in a house by March/April for our May wedding so we can spend our wedding night in our new house together. Hopefully it will work out that way. When do you move in? Congrats!

FH and I are going to start apt shopping next year. We want our own next at least one month before our big day. It's gonna be tight.
No house for us though. My job allows me to transfer.. and I want out of New York before I have children.

Congrats! Very exciting. Scrutinize that engineer's report in detail. You don't want any suprises, and you'll have a bargaining tool should the engineer find something not so great. Yipppee!

Congrats to you! I can't wait till that happens which will more than likely be after our wedding because we can't afford a down payment right now. Hopefully we will with the money we get from our wedding

Congrats!!! We bought our house in July 2002. Best thing we ever did. It's exciting.
Don't worry to much about the mortgage payments, it does fall into place. I remember feeling very overwhelmed, but once we started figuring out our monthly bills each month I became less anxious and realized we can do this. Remember it is an investment, our house has gone up at least $50,000 since we bought it.

We are looking right now, and all the mortgage stuff and what you all need to look at gives me anxiety! But regardless, hoping to make an offer in the next few days.
