Bouquet Toss options

Hi 2010 brides!

I really don't want to do a traditional bouquet toss at my wedding. Every wedding I go to seems like the MC is pulling teeth to get single women up and ready for the toss. It's either they don't consider themselves single (even though they're not married...many who have been dating a long time won't get up) or they don't want a random guy putting a garter on their leg in front of everyone.

My first alternative was to present the bouquet to the next in line bride. Maybe do a toss for all engaged friends. But now the girls I knew would be engaged have either pushed forward their wedding date (they'll be married before me)!

I've heard of the Anniversary dance, but I think I want something different. Any creative ideas? It would be nice to physically toss the bouquet....I just don't want to pressure people to get up and only have a small number of women ready for the toss.

You could make ALL the women there stand up and just do it for fun :)

I did the anniversary dance but with a twist, the band made sure that my parents would be the last ones up there so I presented the bo-k to my mother.

maybe do the tossa nd the garter but dont do theputting on the leg part.... i have seen that before

I have a friend who is going to have all the women stand up, and have a toss bouquet with individual flowers that have fortunes tied to them. When she throws them they should spread out and a bunch of women will each get a flower and a fortune.

Oops! I didn't realize I was crashing the 2011 brides page! I blame it on being a newbie lol

Thanks so much for the options! I really like the idea of multiple flowers w/ the fortunes. I think it would be nice to include all the female guests without pressure.

The anniversary dance is looking nicer and nicer to me as well. I have a little over 4 months to figure it out.

That's what we did. We did the bo-k toss and garter removal/toss but no dressing. It's just always awkward for all parties involved. At my parent's wedding, one of the Jr. BM's caught the bo-k while my dad's drinking buddy caught the garter. Poor girl was so nervous about it. LOL!

OH NO!! That's sooooo awkward. I'm definitely trying to keep awkward moments to a low

I want the whole 'take the garter off the bride' deal, but maybe I'll pass on the put the garter on someone else's leg. Mismatched garter/bouquet pairs are a lot funnier, but I don't want to chance it being TOO mismatched. What if relatives catch it?
