Hey My fellow Bourne brides, What hotel are you reserving for your out of town guests? I'm thinking about the Hilton Garden Inn Islip, or La Quinta Inn&Suites Islip, or Courtyard by Marriot in Ronkonkoma. Anyone have any experience with these? My FH wants to make sure we can have a room for an afterparty or a bar at the hotel and that there's an indoor pool or hot tub. My Dad is hoping there's free shuttle service to a nearby LIRR station and that it isn't too pricey. Me, I'm just hoping there's a nice Bridal Suite to get ready in. Since I'm gonna have my 'getting ready' pictures there. Any info is appreciated. Even from non-Bourne brides! Thank you! Nicole

Re: Bourne Brides-What Hotel?
Hi! I blocked rooms at the Hyatt Windwatch in Haupaugge and also at the Holiday Inn Express in Haupaugge. Both are only 15 minutes or so from the Bourne. FH and I personally visited these hotels and they are great! I was really surprised with the Holiday Inn Express, it was really reallyl nice! The Hyatt recently underwent a renovation and it is gorgeous! That's where we are staying. We had also checked out the Sheraton which is in the same area and it was a DUMP! STAY AWAY!
HTH!

Re: Bourne Brides-What Hotel?
I spoke with Michelle at the Hilton Garden Inn Islip which is only 4 miles away from the Bourne Mansion...they have 2 suites in the hotel--one Smoking and one Non-Smoking and as far as the bar situation, the bar closes at 10pm but for a $100 fee they'll open the bar up again for a regular cash bar when you get back from your reception (my reception ends at 11, so they'd open the bar at 11:30 and keep it open until about 2:30am). The bar situation was important to my friends so we booked them!

Hey!
I am using the Hyatt Regency Wind Watch in Hauppauge. I looked at all of the hotels you mentioned and I just couldnt see spending my 'wedding night' there....the Hyatt is more luxurious looking and they have more chic rooms.
I blocked 15 room for the night before and 25 rooms for the night of.
Yes, they are more expensive and no they dont offer a free shuttle (we have to rent our own coach bus), but they DO have a gorgeous golf course and outfoor areas for a post-nuptial brunch...and the NU lounge for the after party!
I just fell in love with this hotel...it is exactly 20 minutes from Bourne (the others are 15)

Re: Bourne Brides-What Hotel?
I'm getting married at Timber Point which I believe is pretty close to Bourne - I also blocked rooms at Hyatt Windwatch. I want to spend my wedding night somewhere really nice, and also have my family/friends there. The price is average, for what you're getting... I think it might be the nicest hotel in Suffolk. Not too far from the RH either.

Re: Bourne Brides-What Hotel?
Beware of hotels who say they will open their bar up for your after party. Get it in writing. I went to a New Years Wedding and we stayed at the Wind Watch which was suppose to have the bar open, when we got back they did not. We wound up in one of the suits and they were giving us a hard time about the noise. Get everything in writing, writing and more writing...

Wow... Thanks for all the advice ladies! I think I'm going to have to take a day off work and actually go see these places. And thanks for reminding me to get stuff 'in writing'. SO TRUE!
