Are you going to put centerpieces on the tables for cocktial hour? If so, any ideas of what you are planning? Does anybody have an idea how many tables are se up for yor number of guests.

I am putting little glass vases with 1 flower floating in it and petals thrown around it. I think that the tables are set up for 4 guests.

Personally, I don't think the tables will need anything. I just think people will have enough to look at as the roam around. Maybe I will change my mind as it gets closer, but I'm not a fan of flowers for the coctail hour.

We are using candle centerpieces for cocktail hour. I got some lanterns and other fall themed holders last year from kohls. We are also decorating the buffets (cause IMO the way they are usually decorated is tacky! - pretty much the only thing I didnt like about the set up) They usually have fake leaves and grapes on one of the tables and at the pasta station they throw tri0colored pasta all over the place. We are having fall leaves, candles, guords, wheat and indian corn as decoration for the buffet tables.

Yes, you know, if I do put something on the tables, it will be candles. My centerpieces in the ballroom are so ornate as it is, I just don't want it to be overkill with the flowers. We will also have rose petals on the mantles and what not, so it's enough. OH! And I called my florist and we are getting a J and an R made out of flowers to put on the doors (they will be white, though, not like the picture), when you walk into the Bourne. I will look for the picture to show you
I really like those wreaths! I know what you are saying about over kill with the decorations. There is so many things I think would be cool, but I dont want to take away from the mansion's beauty. Are you putting family pictures on the mantles? Ben suggested this to me, but im not sure if im going to do it. We are putting candles and fall leaves on the mantels and mums around the bottom of the fireplaces.

The jury is still out on the pictures. But definitely candles and rose petals on the mantles. I just think it might be creepy to put pictures up. I don't know why
