Bow tie or Regular for Groom?

Hi ladies - for a classic black tux, curious what you think goes best - it used to always be a bow tie but I've seen a lot of regular ties with vests lately too. Curious what you ladies think looks best.

We are doing a regular tie. It's actually considered an European Bow Tie.

I agree regular, I think a bow tie is stuffy. JMO

We are doing long ties for everyone... FH doesn't like bow ties, he thinks they are really dated.

back in the days bow ties were the norm, now its mostly ties. We did ties

I only like bow ties once and that was when an 08 bride's dh did it and his gm, it went with the whole style they did and looked nice

I HATE BOW TIES lol. My brother did it for his wedding and I just wanted to take his head and do this:

DH was adamant that he wear a bow tie. He thought a regular tie was immature and looked too much like a regular suit. He thought a bow tie was more classic. 'Do what Sinatra would do,' lol!

Awwww these people who are laughing about it or saying how stupid bow ties look are kinda insulting those whose FHs are wearing bow ties. It's all a matter of taste!! And if you are doing 'white tie' attire or 'black tie' attire, bow ties are required!!!

And I'm not an Obama fan but he looked spiffy in his white bow tie at the inaugural ball.
