Bow tie -vs- neck tie

JMO but I think the classic bow tie is very elegant for a wedding and the neck tie makes the tux look more like a suit. Everyone is telling me it's 80s, but I think a neck tie is ok for an afternoon wedding not after 6. Am I wrong?

Personally I like the neck ties, but it depends on how good my FH looks in them. Whatever makes him happy. There's some really nice styles in the neckties now.
