Bows on Invitations

Bows on Invitations

FH & I were looking at invitations the other day. We both liked the simpler ones, just with a pearly border or slight design on the border. The thing we didn't agree on was the little crushed bows you can stick on them. I really liked them, especially on some types of invitations, FH on the other hand did not like them at all, he said that he doesn't like the fact that it looks like a crushed bow.

What are your opinions on the bows? Do you think they look nice, or do you prefer invitations with out them?

TIA!

Do you a picture of what you are talking about so i can visualize it.... I have not looked for invites yet and have no idea about different styles

Here's our invite....we used burgandy ribbon instead of the white. We got so many complements.

If I had to do it again, I wouldn't use them. It took so much time to put the invite together, tie the bow, and make sure it is fitted well in the envelope. Plus I didn't get much help from anyone....I was an OOT bride. And I'm sure that the fact that I sent out 200+ invites had something to do with it.

Being that the bows are sold seperatly & you stick them onto the inviations you select, I'm having a hard time finding a picture of exactly what I'm talking about online. All of the invitation books we looked at however had samples of what I'm referring to. The picture below is similar, but I wanted it in white with a border & a different type of bow, not the satin one. I'll keep looking for pictures and I'll repost if I find exactly what I liked.

Those are very pretty inviations, my friend used the same ones for her wedding!

I still can't find a picture of what I'm talking about, but the first invitation in the picture below has the type of ribbon I'm referring to. Theyre stick-on bows, you order them seperatly & put them on whichever invitation you choose. As I said, I want a simple invitation with a pearly border & want to stick this bow on the top right in the center, just like in the picture, but I want a rectangular invitation, not square.

The bow does look crushed, but you can't really help that since its in the envelope. What do you girls think of them?

Personally, I am not fond of a bow on invites - alot of times it ends up looking sort of sqauashed by the time it gets to you, and it's a little to 'girly' for me. Sorry, those that are using it, please don't take offense!

The problem I am finding is that ALOT of invites I like in design have bows on them! It is common to use them, I guess.

I think if your FH has an opinion about wedding related stuff, you should try to work together so you are both happy with the invite.

I had a bow on my invitations and did not have a problem with them. I had sent a couple of invitations to my house so that I could see how them came and the bow were not smushed at all.

Those are really pretty, very similar to what I'm looking into, where are you ordering them from?

I think it is pretty. I didn't understand what you meant by crushed at first . . .

I am ordering them from yourinvitationplace.com. They are by birchcraft. They are gorgeous in person.

Here are my invitations but without the bow.

I have a special link for 40% off all their invitations if you or anyone else wants it.
