Re: Bows on Invites....
I didn't have a bow but my invite had ribbon threaded thru 2 holes to tie it and looked like a bow.
if it doesn't make the envelope too fat or heavier than the weight limit than a bow would not cost more. they have a card board cut out to the width they allow and if your envelope passes thru that you're ok . if it doesn't then it's xtra $$.
I did wax seals and luckily they too were thin enoppugh and didn't stick up otherwise that would have cost more.
best is to assemble one with everything in it and ready to mail and just go to postoffice and get it weighed to be sure how much postage you will need..

Re: Bows on Invites....
I had a bow but it was sheer ribbon, don't think it could have weighed much. My invites were 1.00 each. Having a bow that has to be tied is a lot of work, if I had to do it again I wouldn't have chosen invites with bows, but that is just me.

can you order a sample invite before ordering and take to the post office? I had ordered samples of mine before ordering, worked out well for me doing that

Re: Bows on Invites....
I had bows around mine, and what the post office said was that the thickness of the bows added a .20 surcharge. They said they would have to be put through by hand, a machine would ruin it. So, they were .59 plus .20 for a total of .79. I ordered .80 stamps online with a mountain on them, it looked wintery so it was ok. Bows were a lot of work, and I regretted them when I was tying them, but now that I am getting such a response about how beautiful they are, it was worth it!

I am telling you I wanted to just throw the bows away at several points putting them together, but they do look beautiful.

I think it depends on how restircted the bow will make the invite and whether it can bend or move.

Thanks. The bows aren't tie on bows, so they stick on, i think... they add to the invite. I am going to bring the sample to the post office, thanks....
