I agree, the ties are a must. My FI agrees as well! We recently went on a cruise and My FI rented 2 tuxedos, both with the ties becuase they looked better!

we are doing ties...i just like the way they look ..plus my bro works in a restaurant he has to wear a bowtie every night and he begged me for a change LOL

I think that bowties are old fashion. I think that ties are more instyle today. So, I would go with ties. Thats what we are using. HTH

My guys all wore ties...my DH was adamant that they be REAL ties too, not the fake ties that usually come with most tuxedos...I think they looked soooo handsome! ETA: Even DH's dad and the RB's tie (we bought it in a 'junior' size and had the tuxedo shop cut it to fit a 4 year old) were real ties...the knots were 'Windsor'.

I just asked my FH and he said ummmm bowtie?? And I said I thought you hated bowties!! And he said well aren't you supposed to wear a bowtie with a tuxedo? I said hello, they make regular ties for tuxes now!! He said he will have to see when he goes looking......
Goes to show you how clueless some men are!!!
As for me, it's a tie all the way!!! Bowties remind me of barbershop quartets!!

I actually disagree with you. I think bowties are more un common than your average 'wear to work tie'. My FH wanted bowties and they look great as well. I say do what you like but don't say that either one is 'better' than the other. It's a matter of opinion.
