Re: boxers?

anniegrl has one.

the only bad thing i know is that they have a very short life span, like 9 yrs.

my friends boxer just died at 9 as well. he went blind and had a leg problem

I have a one year old boxer, he is absolutely great, I would definitely recommend one. He does require a lot of exercise and attention but he is a very quick learner. He's very playful and full of energy, which always keeps us laughing. The only problem we've had with him is his jumping on people. He gets so excited to see people he can't help himself but to jump up. We pretty much have it under control but every once in a while when were not looking he'll jump. Boxers are great dogs. If you have any questions ask away.

thanks - i have heard that they are jumpers - i guess its hard to tame that out of them if it is in their genes -- so glad to hear you have had a great experience. I just heard that they have a short life span though YIKES!

boxers are great i have had one for like 3 1/2 years. he will be 4 in november. he is great all around very playful and lots of energy. he is amazing with kids my niece pulls his face and sits on him and yet all he does is lay there and take the abuse. he is also protective over her so thats also good. no aggression at all very firendly to whoever he meets whether it is people or other dogs. i def. reccommend the breed. hope that helps.

i love boxers

but the one thing i do not like.,,it their snot drool. Their cheeks hang down and this thick drool is there sometimes...maybe it was just the boxer my friend had but they ARE ADORABLE!

I have a 2 year old Boxer named Hamish. he is super loving and cuddly but hyper as can be. needs a lot of exercise and just noticed he has some dog aggression issues. I love him though he is my baby

Re: boxers?

How about doing a search on boxers online??

Another good idea is contacting local boxer rescues and asking about the breed.

Please don't buy from a pet store. Rescue one from an organization. You could find them on petfnders.com. Don't buy while others die.

Boxers are great dogs. Just make sure you find a breeder that heart screens their dogs before breeding (including holter monitors).
