BP Drama- Need Advice ASAP!

BP Drama- Need Advice ASAP!

So I thought having a 28 person Bridal Party would be inclusive enough so as not to cause drama!

Anyway, I have been babysitting for one family for over 2 years, and I am SO close to them and their kids. I love them, and the kids love me. They're not just 'kids that I babysit', they're like my little brother & sister. So we have a RB already (FH's precious little 2nd cousin), and I asked the little girl that I babysit to be my FG. Ok good no drama.

Then I asked FH's cousin to be my Jr BM. Wonderful, great, she's very excited, as is FG. So as I mentioned, FG has a little brother & Jr. Bm also has a little brother. FH & I want both of those little boys included in our BP because we love them very much and are very close to them. So I was reading a book and I read about 'pages' or 'trainbearers'- traditionally little boys who hold the bride's train as she walks down the aisle. I thought this was really cute, so I decided that is how I want them incorporated into the BP! Yey so everyone is happy.

Now I babysit for another family too, and they are wonderful people and I love them dearly. However, I've been with them about 1.5 years (so a little less), and I'm just not AS close with them as the others. Their son is right in between the ages of my pages (hah I rhymed!) I watch him about 3.5 hours a week and the others I watch between 10-14 hours a week. And my Mom was just like 'Oh! What about [insert his name] Are you going to ask him?' And I was like 'Well I don't think so,..' and she was like 'But he's going to be the only kid you babysit who won't be in it!'
But it's not like I babysit 700 children!

It's not that I DON'T want him to be in it, but then what do we about all the OTHER cousins and kids who aren't in it? Do we suddenly include them too?

Also, his family knows that we're having an E-party for just BP & family. If I ask him to be in it, now I have to awkwardly be like, 'Well, since you're BP now! So come!' PLUS I'm not 100 percent positive that they would go to CT for the wedding. I THINK they would, but I'm not positive. I just want this hammered out soon
What do you girls think of all this?? HELP!!!!
aghhhh

i wouldnt..... you cant make everyone happy, and you should really only have those closest to you, so if you already dont feel that close to them i def dont think thyey should be a part of your bp

ITA. u cant have everyone u know in ur BP, just the people that are very dear to u. IMO

by da way, when I was 5 I was a train bearer for my aunt
my poor aunt had to drag her train and me holding to it all thru the wedding, cause I kept looking around
so Jen be careful

i agree but if they come you could include him at the church by asking him to carry something to the alter - but 28 people JMO is alot of people in a bridal party.

I hope I got the facts straight but I dont think you have to have him in your BP. Since they are not family, they will not know who is who and that you have some kids who you babysit in the bp in the first place. Also, when it comes to kids being part of a bp, since its not family especially, I dont think the parents would really care either way, to be honest.

Yah it's more than 'average' I guess, but I really don't care. FH & I wouldn't be happy if we didn't have all of them up there with us, because they are all very special and important to us. And if people think it's weird, oh well! We'd rather look back & be happy with a large bridal party, than look back and regret not including someone because of what other people think. :)

I agree with the others. I don't think its necessary to ask him. If you ask him, then where do you stop (as in including other people). Hope everything works out!

I just decided to keep the kids out.... I don't need my cousins and aunts and uncles getting all bent cuz I asked 2 and not 4 of them to be in there.

Sorry you're feeling pressured to have a million people... you need to do what makes you happy.

Everyone is gonna have something to say no matter what! Unfortunately...

Good luck!!!

I wouldn't feel pressured to do it. The answer is loud and clear, you don't feel you want to have him, so there's your answer. You would just be doing it b/c your mom suggested it. You have to draw the line somewhere. Did your mom really seem like this was sooo terrible if you didn't have him or was she just making a suggestion? If you told her no, wouldn't she understand? I say just do what you want, and it sounds like you're already set on your BP. Like previously, said you can't make everyone happy, and it doesn't sound like this kids parents would even be upset.

You don't need to include them, especially if you feel that by including them, you'll need to include those other cousins.
Like others have said, you need to draw the line somewhere. Your BP is already larger than average - and that's what you guys want, so that's cool! - but at some point the line needs to be drawn...otherwise, you'll have no regular ol' guests at your wedding - everyone will be in the BP! Hee hee
And sure, they might be the only kids you babysit that aren't int he BP...but they're kids. They probably won't notice that fact anyway.

don't do it - this is the reason we're not having any kids in ours there will be too many babies and we dont' want anyones feelings hurt...

I agree with everyone else... You don't have to make anyone part of your wedding party that you don't want. It seems like you are fine with who is in the BP and do not want to be overwhelmed by even more people. I would ignore what others say. I think it's pretty clear how YOU feel so go with your gut!

yup. I don't think you need to include him. There are SO many kids in my family so in order to make it appear 'fair' i just chose the youngest daughter from my dad's god son, the son of my dad's other godson, and the youngest girl from another set of parents. She'll be 12 but she's SMAAAALLL (stopped growing for about 5 years).

I'm including some of the other kids by having them hand out programs in the beg. and the flower petals at the end but they aren't technically in my bridal party.
