FH has gotten really close with FSIL's boyfriend - they are like best friends - it's the cutest thing! So FH wants to ask him to be in the bridal party - i have no objection... however, it will throw off the numbers and symmetry (i'm really into symmetry and things being even)
so i was thinking that if FH asks him, then I would ask FBIL's girlfriend - they've been together for like 2 years. I don't want her to feel left out if I don't ask, but the thing is we aren't very close - we're friendly...
so what do u girls think? suck it up and deal with the uneveness or ask her? it's not just about numbers, I also don't want to offend her by not asking if FSIL's boyfriend of 9months is in the BP and not her... agh... I'm overthinking this one!

Re: BP question
I would just deal with it being uneven. Your BP is supposed to be the people who are closest to you. I wouldn't want to ask someone just to fill an open space.

Re: BP question
I think you should ask her also if you really like her otherwise an uneven amount of BP is fine

Re: BP question
I would deal with it being uneven but I am biased because I have an uneven wedding party I have 7, he has six

I'm going to be uneven too - I definitely would not ask someone who you do not feel close to to be so involved in events which are extremely personal.

Re: BP question
I am an uneven party so that is not my objection.
Here is what I would like you to consider. IF (I am not wishing this but if) these ppl break up, you will have them in your photos forever! Two of my sisters had their friends wives in their party b/c they did not want them to feel left out, they were not close but the spouse was. 10 years later and two messy divorces, the pictures are the only thing they have of their wedding and they are covered with the ex-wives.
I would not invite someone into your wedding that you are not committed to for the long hall. It would be odd for her to feel left out of an event she is invited to as a guest.

Yeah this is always a tough one...My sister almost 5 years ago had my ex BF in her wedding... we were dating for 5 years at that point..and now he's in all her bridal party pictures... I will however say that this applies to both married and not married couples... back then we all thought I would marry my ex...and that obviously isn't happening!!! Married couples can break up just like unmarried couples! I'm having my SIL and BIL in my wedding because they're a part of my family and I'd never want to leave them out... The decision is really up to you! I do think asking her BF to be in the wedding and not her might be a bit upsetting for her though... HTH! :)

Re: BP question
Hey Date twin!!!
You have to ask yourself, while it will be uneven are those that are in the BP the ones that you and FH are closest too? Would asking someone else just for it to be even throw the friendship balance off more and cause trouble? And last are you thinking of asking FBIL's g/f only because then it would make your party even?
Mines really uneven 9 GM and 7 BM if that helps at all.

Re: BP question
I say deal with it being uneven...plenty of people do it. Just try to think of how you can line people up, walk them down the aisle etc. You shouldn't ask someone to be in your BP because you feel obligated.

Re: BP question
Yeah, I agree with all of the other girls. Def deal with the uneveness. I am uneven too. But I am ok with it. I dont want my FH to ask some more people to be in the BP if he isnt comfortable with it, and just to fill a spot.
