BP vs. Parents

Since there are all these ?'s about seating I figured Id ask mine

If you and your new hubby are sitting at the table alone... who sits next to you at the next 'head table' your parents or the BP??

Your parents and the people they choose. Bridal party starts at the next table after that...

Re: BP vs. Parents

We had our parents at the table closest to us and the BP - all 3 people with their SO were sitting with other guests they knew. So our BP was all over the place

The two tables on either side of us are going to be for our parents and our immediate family. Our bridal party is going to be sitting with their siginficant other or guest all together across from us (our room is set up where the bride & groom are in the middle, tables on either side of us and tables across of us in a row).

Next to us on one side of the floor were our close friends with bridal party. Our parents were sitting centered on opposite sides of the dance floors surrounded by their closest friends and family. The fourth side was the band. This set up worked well, and created more 'honored' spots. Everyone was close to either the b&g, mob&fob, or mog&fog.

Our room is arranged so that there is no 'right next' to us table. Much easier. I also didn't use table numbers, that helps. Name your tables instead of numbers.
But our parents were close to us. Our BP all sat with their own friends/family so they were scattered around the room.

Re: BP vs. Parents

The last wedding I was in, the bridal party was the FIRST table on each side of the bride & groom. I think this is because the table was a little set back, which is sort of how my room will be too. Our parents will be at the SECOND table on each side of us, as to have them stick out a little more. We're still debating, we have an awfully large BP and it's still early. So who knows!

We had our parents next to us, and the bridal party was seated with their other friends and SO's all over the room. It worked out really well that way.

At my friends wedding, the bridal party was next to the bride and groom, and the parents table was closer to the dance floor. That's how the bride's parent wanted it. The table were staggered though in a way that the parent's table and the BP table were pretty much just as close to the bride. I wouod suggest asking your parents where they want to sit.

i think i am just really laid back and so are my parents. where ever they are sitting they are happy. my mom says whose going to be sitting. everyone is going to be up and booging. the only time ppl are going to be sitting is when its time to eat and everyone will be so occupied eating whose gonna strike up a conversation.

my mom is so funny.

at my friends wedding in Sept. she had the bp at the table closest and the immediate family was at the table right after that on each side, respectively

I'm like Chippatrid-our families are more laidback so I think I would rather have my bp closer to me so that way my family can all sit closer to each other anyway. Hopefully I won't be sitting too much anyway-I want to dance!

Re: BP vs. Parents

we had the BP with SO at the first 2 tables on either side of us....then, our parents with their close friends/family at the next 2 tables....since all of our BP was siblings and cousins, this was easily done!

Re: BP vs. Parents

I'm lucky all my immediate family is in my BP We are up higher so it doesnt really matter, but I'll have the first 2 tables on one side be the BP, and the ones on the other side be close family....

Re: BP vs. Parents

lucky me ... parents divorced & dad makes a fuss .. so we put parents nearby & BP around the room at tables w/ their friends. Made sense to sit them this way, so they get to be with people they want to be with!

My BP will also have their guests at the table w/them.

Re: BP vs. Parents

We had our parents at the table closest to us and the bridal party scattered at different tables in the room with their friends.(Some people in our bridal party were not speaking to others in bridal party so we kept them apart.)

Re: BP vs. Parents

my hall suggested that the parents sit across from us on the dance floor...they said they were the best seats for them...

then on each side of us we had our friends/BP

I want to have my BP closest to us....
then the parents.
never thought of having BP scattered- good idea, I'll have to give that some more thought when the time gets closer.
