Well the time has come for me to have to buy a bigger bra but i just recently heard that you shouldn't buy bras with underwire because it does something to the milk ducts.....is this true? I thought you would need the underwire for the extra support.

Re: Bras with underwire????
I think that's after the baby is born. Before you should be ok. But I would recommend getting some without the u/w if you're planning on nursing. I had one with the u/w and I did develop 2 infections. I stopped using it and I didn't get any more. I don't know if the wire was the cause but it does look that way.

Re: Bras with underwire????
I also wanted to say that if you are planning on breastfeeding, I highly recommend the second nature bras they sell at Buy Buy Baby. It doesn't have an underwire and I find it to be quite supportive (and not to give TMI but I have a lot to support!). What I really like about them is it unzips to the side so that the milk doesn't get all over the bra.
