Bravura

Bravura

Met with them over the weekend.
They have great live entertainment at great prices.

The DJ/MC combo is the most expensive we have seen.

The worst is......... they want half of the total cost as a deposit.

We are still looking.

Any suggestions will be a great help.

TIA

Re: Bravura

I know.....that's actually the reason why we went with another dj instead of them.

HOWEVER, once things got closer to the wedding, I wish we had gone w/ them bc then we would only owe 50% instead of having to come up with a 90% of the balance to our actual dj.

IMO, it's better to pay as much as possible up-front so u don't have to worry about it closet to the wedding!

Very smart not to give 50% up front since in this economy, you dont know which businesses will still be around come your wedding day.

I met with Bravura and thought they were great, but I like working with Starlight Express a little bit more. Their prices were comparable, but I just felt like Starlight had a slight edge over Bravura.

I loved Bravura, but they were way out of our price range. I agree that for budgeting purposes it's easier to put more money down, but that just wasn't an option for us.

You should look into Vinny from High Voltage. His prices are sooooo reasonable (FM me for more info), and he is really helpful.

HTH!

There are definite pros and cons here....yea its great to not have to pay alot in the end, but like someone else said, you don't want to give so much to a company now a days.

I looked at a lot of djs/bands....Bravura & Body Rock were my top 2 if I went with a dj, I ended up with a band. I felt those two companies were just so professional and didn't make me feel like my wedding was my sweet 16. However, I've heard amazing things about Starlight and LI Sound. FM Entertainmen has great prices as well.

I know someone who told me that they used to work for them and got a great deal because of it, but they were still paying like 5K. I was like !!!

I could just imagine for someone who didn't have the inside connection.

I got a lot through them. I paid 3700 but it included live music, full intelligen lighting, 2 plasma screens and also the dj for 5 1/2 hours. They are the best and to me i didnt mind spending the money on a DJ if i knew they would have everyone dancing all night. My brother used them for his wedding and they were AMAZING!!! JMO

I would try telling them that you cant put that much money down but want to book with them. They may work with you.

Re: Bravura

I met with them and agree with you that it was the highest price for a dj/mc. when i met with them, they kept trying to push things on me, which i didn't like. i ended up booking with FM entertainment. i could have booked FM 2 1/2 times for the amount bravura wanted.

i highly recommend you meet with FM Entertainment. You can add on some live band options, like a dinner singer, sax player, percussionist. FH and I booked a steel drum player for CH. Our Dj/MC package, plus the steel drum player and a photo montage is costing us under 2k!

FM was the first we saw but we need to go back only because we saw them before we booked the venue
They seem really easy to work with.
Great communication via em and phone.

They have the best priceses so far.

Bravura is worth every penny. There was a huge difference between the music at my wedding and the amount of people on the dance floor and the music and dancing at other family & friends wedding. Best choice we made.

I also booked Bravura and paid about the same for a cocktail hour band, and a live dinner singer, the lighting, the dj/mc and a bunch of other add-ons. We put the 50% down, but were told if we couldn't they would break the down payments into installments for us. Call and ask if you REALLY like them. I love them. I couldn't imagine having another DJ.

They were one of our first choices but then when Paul was booked for our date and they said that he would drive 20-25 mins back and forth from the other brides wedding to sing at ours and then go back to hers that was a red flag for us- we kept up our search and found LI Sound - who are in the same price range but were so professional we booked on the spot- try them!

Re: Bravura

cant they negotiate?

my dj wanted the same thing but i told him i would give him a $500 deposit, then pay half at the mid point and then the rest at the wedding.

i booked with Phil from After Hours if ur interested.

I highly recommend Big Hits Entertainment - they did an amazing job at our reception. The dance floor was packed all night. They are professional, easy to work with, and will do exactly what you ask for.
