Brazilian Wax

So....I am thinking about doing this for my wedding/honeymoon.

Does anyone on here know a good place in Nassau?

Is there anything I should do to prepare myself for this? (this would be the first time I have ever done it or any type of waxing in that area..lol)

I get it done monthly, so it really doesn't hurt anymore but, your first time Go the the red door spa in Garden City, they use beeswax and it's much less pain than the regular wax and ripe off paper

I'd start with a Bikini Wax first then work your way up to the BRAZILIAN!!

in all honesty, yes it will hurt but for me the pain was 100% GONE by the time she was done and I dressed and paying. It's a very short-lived pain.

How much is it usually for the Brazilian Wax?

What about treatment after? Do you have to put cream or anything on it? Do you get red bumps?

Because I have been thinking about doing it too, but I never know if I should do it the day before, week before?

Pain is pain...what I really want to know is where to get it done and how long does it last?

I get it done in NYC so I can't help you with LI locations. At the place I go, they put some type of cream on afterward. I think most places do that.

They tell me scrub that area in the shower with a louffa or something for the next few weeks to avoid ingrown hairs.

What place do you go to in the city? Bliss?

Another weird question...but do you have to 'grow it out' (lol) before you go?

How long does it last for you?

I go to J Sisters in midtown. I like the cloth they use instead of cheap strips. The hairs starts to grow back noticeably around 3-4 weeks, so just under a month.

I guess I do grow it out because I don't do it consistently... just a few times a year.

Go see Joan in Oceansde at Montage. It's on Long Beach Rd. I've been going to her for years and couldn't be happier! She's a bit older and makes you feel comfortable. And she's VERY reasonable!
Beforehand, I'd probably grow your hair in a bit so the wax has something to hold onto :)
And don't be discouraged, the most painful time is the first time. After the hair begins to grow in thinner & thinner, you barely feel it anymore! I'm addicted!
Feel free to FM me with any questions!

I live in Suffolk so I don't know any places but I have paid $50 for it plus tip. My hands were shaking the first time but I was talking a lot (babbling) and she and I just started a convo and it took my mind off the whole 'area' after it, you will be amazed!
