Re: Brazillian or Playboy wax?
I just went for a brazilian at a GREAT place in Astoria on Steinway Street. It's a Brazilian salon and it was a very good experience, as compared to my experience at the very famous J. Sisters in Manhattan. Best part, it was just $25.00. The place is called Connection on Steinway Street. Good luck!

Re: Brazillian or Playboy wax?
I'm not sure but it sounds less painful than a Brazilian!

I think Playboy Wax is where they leave a stripe in the front only.

Re: Brazillian or Playboy wax?
The Green House Spa in Manhasset is where I used to have a Brazillian wax done. I know that it is now called something else. Also, I was told by one of my girlfriends that Bocu Salon now does it also.

Re: Brazillian or Playboy wax?
pretty bad...well depends how sensitive you are.
If you do go, pop a few Aspirin, they will reduce the sensitivity.
I also heard now some salons rub gel on the parts about to be waxed. This gel has a numbing effect. That reduces that uncomfortable feeling. Salons might charge more if they use it.

I get partial Brazillian wax. The more often you go, the less painful it is. I didn't think it was bad the first time I went though, but some will disagree with me.

Re: Brazillian or Playboy wax?
I went to Paula at the Cloud 9 Salon, which is on the queens nassau border, I have her card in my car. She was recommended to me from this board, and she was EXCELLENT. I highly recommend her. Do a search on Paul Cloud 9 salon, you may find the post. good luck! edited to say, sure it was painful, but really not so bad, it only is painful for a second at a time. if you have issues being up close and personal though, it's not for you -

What's the difference between a Brazilian wax and a regular waxing from a nail place?

Re: Brazillian or Playboy wax?
Hi Ladies....
I love the responses!!! LOL
Keep it coming ,
My fh, does not like to much hair, and I am very hairy, normally I would get the regular waxing from a nail salon and it would only be the sides $10.00 and I would make them do the top for $5.00. Wearing a thin thong.
But, I would always end up going home to finish the rest myself... Uggggg....
I figured, I would keep up doing it, so it won't hurt as much. But, this time I want more hair taken OFF :
I am scared of the brazillian, I think, I can go for the playboy!!!!
I know it will hurt , but once you do it...you get used to it. I want a change
DH's aunt does waxing in Hicksville...she is very good (although I have never had her done down there to me - too awkward)...but she uses only the best wax and lotions, etc...
many girls on here have used her and they say that she is very good...
FM me and I will give you her number - she works out of a salon in Syosset too if that is easier...but she is more flexible in time at her home (she has a little studio)
