Breast Reduction

Breast Reduction

This is something that I am seriously considering. Ever since I was 12 years old Ive had huge boobs that I despise and cause me problems. Everyone always says Im so lucky to have them. Grr...I cant stand them. Growing up, I always got picked on. Now I have back pain, spend $1000 on bras, and I can never find cute tops that fit me right.

I was going to have it done before the wedding, but I wasnt sure, what if something went wrong? Now thats the wedding is done, this is something Id like to do for myself.

I was wondering if any of you ladies have done it, have the same problem, or know anyone who has that can give me advice/suggestions?? My insurance will pay for it, but Im afraid of things going wrong, the scarring, the pain....Im just not sure.

Thanks in advance for any stories or comments

I did not have it done but have two friends who did and they were soooooooo happy after. Neither one was in NY though. . and there was some pain afterwards bc it is a major surgery but don't think they had much scarring. . . I do know that they both said it made their back pain go away but don't know more than that

Re: Breast Reduction

SIL is doing hers this Thursday after years and years of wanting it! I'll have to let you know after how she does. She's worried about not being able to pick up her children after (she has a 3 1/2 y/o and a 1 y/o) for a month. Her husband is in Afghanistan with the army so he's not around to help right now.

Re: Breast Reduction

My friend had this done when we were in college which was a while ago. She has been so happy ever since. She always complained of back pain and was so self conscious. She is so glad she did it. Good luck.

One of my friends had it done about 5 years ago. She said it was the best thing she ever did. She said her scars are VERY faint now and you can hardly see them.

mine are pretty big altho they have shrunk somewhat since ive lost weight...but are nowhere near tiny! i wanna have it done eventually, but im prob thinking that i will wait till after i have kids only cuz everyone says they get huge when you are preggers and stay bigger...so i will prob wait...

My cousin had it done a couple years ago and has never been happier. She has some scarring but nothing too bad and it's still expected to fade even more over time.

Re: Breast Reduction

FH's cousin had it done a few years ago. It looks amazing!!! The doctor that did the surgery is Dr Funt, I think he's in Cedarhurst or Woodmere. I didn't see ANY scarring at all and she went from a DDD to a C.

PS Dr Funt does my mom's botox & he did her eye lift too.

My mom also got a breast reduction 6 years ago by Dr Todd Wider in Smithtown. But I think he specializes more in reconstructive surgery. (My mom is a breast cancer survivor, so after all the surgeries she had no choice BUT to get a reduction.)

**What's so funny is I had no IDEA FH's cousin got the surgery! Last week we had a massive family dinner, and it came up and she showed all the girls her boobs! Talk about family bonding!!
