Anyone know of any lab breeder? We are thinking about getting a pup after our wedding or even a young doggie maybe not a pup

In today's newsday there were a few listings of Lab Pups by home breeders.

If you are looking for a Lab puppy (or any puppy really) please consider a shelter - SO many labs get dumped at shelters - you can definitely find a puppy there. Don't support back yard breeders!

I agree!!! But if you go to a breeder, are you looking for a yellow, black or chocolate lab?

We got one lab from a breeder in Michigan and the other from a shelter through Long Island Labrador Retriever Rescue, Inc..

I highly recommend trying the rescue org. first! Many of the dogs are already trained.

Jenny and Ophelia state an excellent point. So many labs and lab mixes are dumped kill shelters. Thank god for those no kill shelters and rescue groups that save them.

Please look into adopting from a lab rescue group or animal shelter.Also, Lab mixes are just as smart and beautiful as pure labs.

U can do a search for a lab rescue group or where you can adopt a shelter lab/lab mix on petfinders.com
