Bret Matthews Photography

I booked with Bret Matthews I think they told me we get anywhere from 700 to 1000 proofs. You do get your digital negatives after 5 years. I'm really happy with them and I think their photos are amazing, but I would reconsider using them if you really want digital prints. To me it wasn't something that I found that important.

I used them and LOVE LOVE LOVED them!!! I have heard some negative reviews about them on this board but it didnt stop me from booking with them. The quality of their work is just amazing! Personally I think the amont of proofs you get is NOT something you should base your decision on. Remeber is QUALITY not quanity (at least thats how I feel) Some of my friends got over 1500 proofs from different photographers and most of their pictures are all the same- like the same picture 10 times!!! Do you really need that? Plus you are only putting 100 photos in your album.

I have to admit I was disappointed about not getting digital proofs but I quickly got over that. They give you ALL your proofs touched up and unmarked 4x6 photos- you can frame these pictures.

I was very happy with them and would recommend them to anyone!

check out J O V O N photography. You keep ALL unmarked proofs (I had about 1200) and they specialize in the photojournalism photography. They really go above and beyond to make you happy with their work. It's a family business.

if you read thru the different threads here about photographers, there are SO SO many that girls rave about that I don't think you need to limit yourself to just this one place.

Some girls have said not having the digital proofs is not so bad since you get the 4x6 peoofs, BUT if you want bigger pics - - 8x10 etc you always have to go back to them and the cost is not cheap for these prints. I had an old PC when we were married and didn't think at all about doing anything with the proffs but then got a new PC that could handle the pics and wound up doing an album for myself so I could use 200+ pics in it and also a DVD with our first dance song as background. So I'm so glad I had the digiatl proofs. You or FH or even a friend might want to do thet but with no proofs, oh well.

Is this a normal thing not to get your CD of images after your wedding?

We are using F I N E A R T and in our contract we get the cd after our albums are completed. We are guaranteed 1600 proofs in our contract... also I think its important to make sure you see the photographers sample proofs because that really shows the work they do. During our meeting, the photographer asked if we wanted to see sample proofs and he bought out boxes of proofs of brides they just shot. That's part of the reason I chose this photographer because I knew that not only did I love their albums and portraits in their studio, i loved their proofs....
